Has anyone seen him play?

Are we likely to see him start challenging Brez or Casper for their spot on the bench? and eventually becoming first choice goalkeeper?

Not seen him play but I think he has been on some specialist coaching clinics for the country's top rated young goalkeepers or something like that, so clearly well thought of.

He was on the bench v Leicester and Middlesbrough (Kuszczak and Ankergren were injured).

He looked very good against Everton in the youth cup. Goalkeepers seem to develop a bit later so I wouldn't expect him to become first choice for a few years yet.

If we are in this division next season I wouldn't mind having him as match day back up and perhaps letting go of Brezovan and Ankergren - or at least one of them. Saves on wages with the option of a loan signing should Kuszczak be ruled out for any long period with injury.

That said, if we don't go up, I doubt we will keep Kuszczak...

This is probably a very likely scenario. Let Casper go, and have Walton and Brez as backup. We should be doing all we can to keep Kuszszak though.

Potentially he is a very good keeper.

His shot stopping is already ahead of Casper and at the very least equal with Brez. However, what he is lacking (and it will come) is presence in the 6 yard box. He's a tall lad, but needs to be a lot more dominant aerially. Also, needs to be more vocal with his defence, in terms of pushing them up. Distribution also not quite good enough yet.

Loads of potential and I think he'll make it.

If we are in this division next season we will need a new 1 so I would keep either Brezovan or Ankergren and sell the one we can get most money for as there is nothing to chose between them. Neither are good enough to be no 1 in a championship side and then use them as the 3rd choice.keeper, which every club needs for the rest of their contract.

Seen him play several times looks to me like he could turn out to be very good

Just having my views but not in this division no, will have a good career as back-up here and L1/L2 starter but

I'd keep Brez for a year, ditch crapagren and get Walton some starting experience around L2 level, then make him back-up the year after

Yep - been part of the England development camps for Young English goal keepers. He is highly thought of, and I'd imagine we would be looking for him to be part of our 3 keepers for next season.

Saw him last week in the Sussex Cup game v Eastbourne Borough. Not overly tested but coaching staff were trying to get him to be more assertive in the area both physically and verbally.

I think we do seem to have a good scouting system as they have spotted some great talent like Defelou at Everton (******* hijackers) Virgil Van Djyik etc etc but it's the end bit of getting into the club with a lot of them that we fail on.
But I do trust our board and Mr Bloom not to spend stoopid amounts of money on overrated wankers.

I mean Kev Phillips at Leicester now 41 years old ... 41 FFS he will get 3 mins at the end of matches if he's lucky and collect 10,000 a week probably ! Waste of money

We can't sell any keeper that's out of contract.

to say our scouts 'spotted' deulofeu is pushing it. I'd imagine pretty much every manager on earth was aware of him before he joined everton. Not convinced we were even looking at him seriously as it should have been obvious early on that he'd only to on loan to a top club

as for walton, i've heard good things without seeing him in the flesh. I'm not sure what the point of having Brezovan AND Ankergren at the club- more from their point of view as both are capable of playing regularly at League 1 level, whereas here, where they are so far behind our number 1, they are resigned to a handful of appearances between them. Perhaps they're both just settled in the area and don't want to believe but there must be a reasonably local league 1 side that would snap them up. I'd be more than happy for one of them to go and for walton to be our number 3, eventually rising up to number 1 as he reaches his peak
