Forest were decent in the second half and fought back well to get the draw - but the result really doesn't serve any purpose for the team or Hughton. Having Worrall and Garner back in the team clearly helped - but he is still missing several key players.

They released half the squad during the summer and didn't sign any replacements. On top of that some of his first team are injured. He is now relying on three loan signings to keep things afloat (and one of them is injured). Forest are in serious trouble if they don't bring in some decent quality players before the deadline.
So was Chris sold a pup? Or did he go in with open eyes?

Forest are an absolute shambles. There is no way Hughton isn't smart enough to have spotted that. This has all the hallmarks of him taking a big payday at end of his managerial career in club football, picking up a sizeable wage, with worst case scenario being a sizeable pay off.
You could well be right. He is ready to hang up his socks. I thought he had more about him really to bow out like that. I always thought it was a strange move for him, he seemed more like a West Bromich fit.

Sadly for CH he is a manager and not a head coach.
His skills aren’t improving players and getting a team to become more than the sum of its parts.
What he is brilliant at doing is managing players and setting sides out to be well organised and effective.
At Forest he is working with very little and is struggling as a result… I’m sure he was promised a very different situation when he took the job on because Chris has far more integrity that to “just take a payday”
Hope that whatever happens he doesn’t end his career on a low point as he deserves so much more.

Disrespectful analysis of a man who was never anything other than a true professional in all his other jobs imo. I think it’s more likely that he has been sold a pup and was promised strengthening this season, not a mass exodus of experienced players.
I struggle to think of a football manager less likely to, cynically, take a basket case club on as a last payday.
I’d love to hear [MENTION=30752]NooBHA[/MENTION] take on this, but he appears to have quit NSC

Forest either manage one goal or draw a blank. Their inability to score twice or more means they will permanently be in or around the drop zone.
