I heard today that he played quite well; playing a good role in Barnes' goal to make it 5-0 and displayed some nice touches etc.

was wondering what you thought of his performance today and how it compared to previous appearances, and whether you thought the loan spell at Stevenage has helped him out.

......from someone that was at the game.......no he didn't play particularly well. Though he wasn't on the pitch for too long. The guy is NEVER going to make it at the Albion & needs to leave the club asap. Lightweight up front & an average League 2 club is his level.

We don't need him or want him. End.

I thought he looked sharp and eager. Made several good runs. Problem is generally we are playing the ball out wide and crossing it in. He is the type of player that through his pace needs the ball played through. That's his game, generally at the moment it's not ours. However I still think he can prove to be useful at some point in the future.

From someone else at the game - he looked sharper, fitter and generally better than he has done previously for us. He obviously is going to need more 1st team action if he is going to feature long term.

Sorry to say this but he is exactly the type of player should never have bought - Pitcher, Dixon and now him were all non-league and never anywhere near good enough for professional football.

How did you think Barnes played?

It's comments like this that I don't get. How did signing any of those players hurt the team?

They were punts on non league players that didn't work out, we lost very little so what's the problem with it, one day the gamble might just pay off.

If we get promoted then Holroyd will definitely be surplus to requirements. He has proved that he can cut it as a pro in league two so good luck to the bloke, mabye he'll develop more at a team which suits his style of play better than this one does. The obsession that NSC has developed with Holroyd has been a very strange affair, I don't get why people are foaming at the mouth and desperate to slag him off every time he gets on the pitch.

For the record he played ok today, no better no worse. He made runs into the box which he didn't do before and I'd say he was about on par with Barnes but without the goal.

Exactly my point he is a punt that is clearly not working therefore he should be sold whilst he has a value.

I thought Geoff Pitcher was alright, actually.

But sadly, Holroyd will never be our type of player under Gus. For me, he is a decent enough player and he proved that at Stevenage, but he needs to be at a club who believe in him and play to his strengths, we are neither. Worth a punt, but it's not worked out. I thought he looked ok earlier, and if we didn't already have enough strikers at the club then he might have had a chance, but with Murray, Barnes, Sandaza and Wood in front of him, he's got no chance. But I've nothing against him and I certainly don't have an agenda against the man.

Sorry, but with our current management/coaching setup he looks like the exact type of player to have a punt on and develop him towards his full potential. The step up to L1 was too much too quick for the bloke, a 3 month loan at L2 has helped massively with his confidence. I'm not suggesting he is the mystical striker we need, but he may well just give us a different option with his style of play.

From the looks of things it looks as if this loan spell has been successful for all parties, with Stevenage getting goals, Holroyd improving and getting some confidence, and Brighton getting back Holroyd!

From this, would you think it be good for Gus to send some fringe players on loan in January, and if so, whom?

Let's see if he's on the bench on Monday. Frankly I'd rather take the opinion of Gus than anybody here. In all probability he'll make way for Noone.
