Have just walked the course, no excuses for anyone on that ground. Good, good-to-soft in places is spot on, it is damp on top and plenty of moisture in the air to help keep it that way.

Simply walking to the top of the hill and then looking down towards the home turn and the stands is hugely exciting, can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to do it at 35mph with the blood pumping.

I've said it before Greg, and I'm sure I'll say it again...

You're a lucky, lucky man and I hate you for it.

Sounds like you're in the know - any tips?

I've gone quite large on Long Run - Hope the ground suits?

Well, as I've had a pretty good festival, and it's my birthday today,
I'm going to have one bet, and it's going to be on 'Sam Winner' in the 13:30.
It has to be...

£25 E/W - Total bet £50 - Odds 6/1 - Pot. winnings: £237.50

And then Long Run in the GC with young Sam Waley-Cohen on board?

9-2 the field at the moment so it's a very open race. Only bet I've had so far is Kempes e/w a couple of a weeks ago, but Long Run has plenty going for him. Only slight concern would be that he has yet to show his best form at Cheltenham, but the King George run puts him well ahead of Kauto Star.
Probably only three in there - Carruthers, Neptune Collonges and China Rock - that I couldn't have at any odds. Might have a bit e/w on Weird Al too if he drifts to a really silly price, last run was dismal but previous profile is just what you would look for, and he's had a wind op since Newbury.
Then again, the only decent win I've had all week was in the charity race, so basically I'm as clueless as they come.

You would never know it by looking at my fantasynags performance, but I am having a storming week ! :yahoo:

This is the one week of the year when I bet in significant amounts of folding money, rather than loose change. And with most of my bets on, I am off down the pub for the afternoon to watch them all romp in.
Could be that the drinks are on me later...... but you'd have to be there

Good luck everyone. And especially Sam on your birthday.

Phew! William Hill paid out on top 4 for the 13:30, so I got lucky with Sam Winner.
£50 spent, £62.50 return.
Got lucky. Maybe I should leave it there.
Although 'Long Run' does sound tempting...

EDIT: and just seen he's French, where I'll be going tomorrow...
