[Football] Chelsea moaning about PSR

Really not sure what they are doing. This hoarding players is just mad, absolute joke of a football club. Wonder how the rest of the clubs view them.
I'd sort of understand it if they were able to sell players in a similarly flippant way. Take Datro Fofana (signed for £8m), he doesn't quite fit into their plans so they sell him off after one season for £15m and a healthy profit. It's a crap footballing strategy but quite a good business strategy.

They haven't been doing that though, and are finding themselves stuck with players that no one wants to buy. At the most extreme end you've got Kepa and Lukaku, Mudryk and Sterling as well potentially, who will never claw the money they spent on them back. And they seem intent on replacing them before they've gone. Then at the other end you have players like Fofana and Ugochukwu who at best will find a loan away from the club. It's utterly bizarre stuff.

I don't understand why players keep signing for them. Especially young players - you must absolutely know that you've got little to no chance of getting into the first team unless you're a world-class exception. So, OK, you go and get paid very well - but really? That's it? You don't care about your actual career progression, about playing, about getting noticed by your country? Or about having to complete with, say, seven other goalkeepers? What possible motive is there for joining them?

get the feeling that's all they care about , that and their agents telling them that they'll be the one to make it, and he'll get a nice cut of course!

Maresca was bloody annoying the other day, complaining about having to sell Gallagher….but I wonder how he will manage this huge squad? It’s a little different to the Leicester job! But then he will have known what he was letting himself in for when he joined.

They are genuinely the only club in the country that I would celebrate going bust. And I have close family members that support them.

They are genuinely the only club in the country that I would celebrate going bust partly BECAUSE I have close family members that support them.

All of this reminded me of when FBS renamed Withdean to Palookaville for a game. OK, it was in the Championship, but were we pushing PSR a little bit back then.
I'd imagine back in the day FBS paid a minimal amount, but still can we do it again for a bit more money?
Calling @Dr. No as PSR/FFP was not introduced until 2013.

We were Skint, in more ways than one.

Don Fab posted this on his FB few hours ago. Chelsea is keeping him busy this summer.

There is madness. And then there is Todd Boehly playing Football manager in real life madness.

As per other replies, it's just about money. Don't care if they play.

A DULLARD was commissioned to write a summary of the finances of six clubs by a well known broadcaster before the June 30 financial year deadline in relation to PSR.

The six Clubs were Newcastle, Villa, Forest, Everton, Leicester and…Chelsea.

The article was uploaded onto the broadcaster’s website, Chelsea went ballistic, made threatening noises and article was removed.
