On the contrary - perfect gift for 1100 couples
Particularly as a lot of the tickets are singles.

Nothing says "I love you" more than waving to your sweetheart in the WSU....

...from the ESU.

My student is flying from Japan with his friend to watch this game.

I helped him sign up and get tickets last week. At that point there was only a handful of seats in a few of yhe west upper/lower blocks and south west corner. I didn't look in the east or north. Most blocks were blacked out.

Where have all the extra tickets come from?

Is this the normal routine that loads moreover available in the days leading up to the game?

The club has opened the sell-side of the exchange, so all STH seats that had been listed were released and made available.

The exchange is now open so what you see are tickets listed by season ticket holders who cannot go. When you bought the tickets for your student you would have only had the choice of those remaining from the tickets that go on general sale.

Or already had something booked months before the game was moved.

It really is a stupid time for a football match. I can’t see many couples settling down to watch it on TV on Valentines night, either.
Very much my situation. Any other time across that weekend I would've made it. Fully expecting this to be the first time my ticket doesn't sell on exchange
