I'm thankful that the name Dennis Wise (Jiminez's sidekick at Newcastle) hasn't yet been mentioned in any capacity. I hate that little scrote.

Congrats, although you're still not going to be taking over our League position.

Are you moneybags Charlton now, eh?

Sadly, the new owner says "We will always live within our means" so I think we're not much more than solvent, but that in itself is quite a rarity in football these days (especially considering we were £45m in debt a couple of years ago). I doubt they'll finding £93 million down the back of the sofa for a new stadium or anything like that x

Congrats then, its looking a bit better than it did at the start of the Season (hopefully there'll be no more seat cleaning for the fans), and you're not in any kind of plight like Plymouth. Hopefully your Chairman can find a few thousand to make your team competative and able to see home a one nil lead against a team with ten men ;)

Congratulations on your new found wealth. However, as the previous poster has mentioned, with Phil Parkinson in charge who's tactics were "hoof it long lads, get crosses into the box and occasionally play to the full back, meanwhile sandwhich and climb all over every player on the pitch to win the ball", then you will never be promoted. Get yourselves a better manager!

Congrats... might be just as well we dont play you again this season.

Wishing you well but think you need a manager takeover too

Congratulations on securing your future. I think you will need to spend to keep up this season as otherwise I can see you drifting off the pace. Fingers crossed you don't get Wise as part of the deal

The other option is Wise, though!

It seems like with a better manager Charlton could easily be strong title contenders, but from playing the wrong, negative way against a 10 man Brighton for 82 minutes shows they may well struggle?

Good luck to charlton, as I have always had a soft spot for them along with Plymouth

Has anyone notice this comment:

"We believe that there is significant future potential for the club with all that is happening in the local and wider South East region and we intend to capitalise on that potential. We are committed to creating a long-term financial platform which the club can use to realise its obvious potential on and off the field"

Are they going to run coaches to Sussex again :wrong: . Or does he mean south-east London?

Again? Don't get upset but we never stopped. You can get a subsidised coach to every home game at The Valley from Battle, Bexhill, Brighton, Crawley, Hastings, Lancing, Ore and Worthing, but I think we've used to cover twice as many places in Sussex as that (eg Eastbourne, St Leonards, Shoreham).

When he talks about the South East region, I imagine he is specifically referring to (a) the Thames Gateway house-building plans for North Kent, and (b) general regeneration tied into things like the 2012 Olympics, Ebbsfleet Eurostar, Crossrail running through Woolwich, ect ect ect.
