Just chuckling at Charlton
I remember a few years ago i was driving back from a Palace v Charlton game and was at the lights at Purley Cross when the 'Sussex Express' coach was in front of me. Had a look as i went by (no hand gestures honest!) and there were about 4 people on it! How the f*** was that viable?

Really doubt they are going to lose 12k fans because they are in League 1, even if they freefall to the bottom of the division. Any club who have average crowds of 20k when bottom of the Championship nearly all season can't be that fair weather.

Watch this space. You have to remember a hell of a lot of their 'fans' were bussed in, so i suspect not dyed in the wool Charlton fans. Cheap travel, cheap tickets, Premiership football = big crowds

Take a look at CharltonLife even they said their attendance figures were a joke this season, they counted S/T sales in the final figure of every home match even though a fair proportion didn't show up. Some bloke on BBS reckons the last 10 home matches there were no more than 12-14k in the ground

That is down to season tickets, many of whom won't renew. I can't believe I'm agreeing with the Palace fan - but I am. It's not just the relegation, it's everything else and the mood around the club. The football has been terrible this year, and the former model of how to run a Premier League club has descended into a total shambles.

except that a lot of them arent even at the f***ing game as they count the seasons in the crowd even when they dont turn up (and believe me plenty dont).

i find it laughable that they get knocked for bussing fans from all over the south east. believe it or not a lot of them are in Kent who moved out of London but have been lifelong fans. Not all of them are the post 96 facepaint take a bow son easy easy mob by a long chalk.

i find it hard to knock a club that offered free f***ing season tickets (to EXISTING season ticket holders, who I bet most had one pre premier league anyway) and who go and hunt out their lapsed fans rather than having tedious pointless PC debates on whether to hand out some flyers in the Bulldog to get the Pink Pound in and Should We Be Nicer To Gays Students and Ethnics.

And I f***ing hate Charlton.

Mate however i feel about Charlton, i am the first to say that they marketed their club very well indeed. Offering long term S/T deals for next to nothing, laying on the free travel with dirt cheap ticket prices kept The Valley full for a number of years and for that you have to give them credit. But now this has happened to them you will see only their genuine hardcore fans going from now on, that is the problem you get when all the freebies stop.

Kent is well known to be Charlton territory, loads from south-east London have moved there in the past 40-50 years, in the same way Essex has a lot of West Ham. Sussex and Hampshire aren't in any way 'Charlton territory'. You might as well bus people from Carlisle.

No, they get knocked for advertising for fans in Sussex.

You obviously didn't see the "Come and watch Premiership football" posters in Brighton...

That was what got up Gillingham fans noses as well, they used to bus people in from Medway for nothing, infiltrating Gillingham areas.

Arrgh this place drives me crackers sometimes. I know that all mate but it means f*** all nowadays. What are they going to say, right go as far as Tunbridge Wells but dont piss Brighton off?

Imagine if a team from outside Kent pitched up there all of a sudden?
