I know I am destined to get some stick for posting this but I was at the game v whitehawk. Really didnt think oatway set much of an example to the youngsters in firstly his chat to the officials and secondly, on the pitch.

Yes, I know he is off the pace etc but every challenge he put in was studs up and horrifically dangerous and it was disgraceful to watch - especially considering he is supposed to be first team coach

You may have found that disgraceful but we fell about laughing when GP berated the linesman for calling an offside when he was not in line to have made the call. It sort of referred to the linesman's position and Geometry, and did he do any at school, marginally less politely.

The joys of attending pre-season matches at small grounds -Absolutely Brilliant.

Why was he playing?

Yes indeed, he came on to rapturous applause which, I thought, was brave considering he had the SSC final to think about the following day.

Why was he playing?

The development squad played yesterday so weren't available on Fri night. Gus changed the team around 60 mins to give most players a run out. Oatway filled in in midfield.
I heard Charlie complain about a decision saying our player just used upper body strength and when one of ours was fouled (the ref didn't spot it) tell the linesman (who was just yards away) to get involved in the game.
I thought Gus was more insulting calling the linesman 'Baldy'
