Each team has been allocated 33,500 tickets - so where are the other 23,000 going??

From the radio this morning I understand there are 17,000 Wembley Season ticket holders.

You get every game, concerts etc...

So that's now only 5,000 unaccounted for.

Some will go to the Wembley Club thingy, others to hospitality.

An interesting point about the 17,000 season ticket holders is they not allowed to wear any colours.

I f***ing knew this would happen as soon as the cost of rebuilding the place was made public. I don't care how wonderful the stadium is, it is TOO damned expensive - and this is how we're going to see it paid for:

1) Huge chunks allocated to corporate season ticket holders. 17,000!!!! That's ridiculous.
2) every two bob game now played at Wembley if at all possible, including the cup semis. Who cares if it cheapens the experience? Not the FA.
3) Concessions. An absolute rip off at every turn.

They should have built it in the middle of the country where land is cheaper. Or maybe have TWO national stadiums instead.

25k for the Cup Final is higher than it was when United played Chelsea in 1994. It was under 20k for the teams, I seem to remember.

Yep - that's the point about the FA Cup, its ALWAYS been like that.

My dad used to know a director of a football club (years ago) and we went to a few FA Cup finals.

It isn't right though.

Every league club gets a number of tickets for the FA Cup final.

Cup Final ticket allocations

The FA Cup sponsored by E.ON
The Final
Chelsea v Manchester United
3pm, Saturday 19 May 2007
Wembley Stadium

At a meeting held today with FA Cup finalists Chelsea and Manchester United, it was agreed that The FA will provide each club with an allocation of approximately 25,000 tickets for the game at Wembley on 19 May.

These allocations represent an increase of 1,500 per club on the 2006 Final. Aside from seats for members of Club Wembley, 70% of the remaining tickets will be provided to the two clubs to distribute.

The remaining 30% of tickets have been allocated to people involved in the grassroots of football and the football family. These 23,000 tickets will go to the 92 Premier League and Football League clubs, the 134 Full Member clubs, other clubs who reached the Third Round of this season's competition, charities, the Football Foundation, Premier League, Football League, Football Conference, PFA, International Associations, FIFA, UEFA and County Football Associations.

An FA spokesman said: "The FA Cup Final is a unique sporting event. This year the demand for tickets will be greater than ever due to it being the first Cup Final back at Wembley.

"It is undoubtedly the biggest domestic cup final in the world and as such it belongs to the whole country as well as the two competing teams and their supporters.

"It is also an occasion to reward the thousands of individuals who give up their time and energy to football, without whom the grassroots game would not function."

Our sons junior football team have again been offered tickets for this, they turned them down but this will be the third time Hampshire FA or whoever have offered them 20+ tickets to a fixture at the New Wembley.

I don't know if WBA/Derby would have sold out, would imagine so but I can understand them giving the kids the tickets if the clubs return/refuse them.
