Not sour grapes at all, they're quite sweet; I made my intentions clear before the match and I'm thoroughly enjoying the result, as are all other Juventini and Milanisti. I also know that we would have definitely suffered a worse result than Inter had we been the ones playing in this match against City.

I'm simply analyzing what I saw and saying that City didn't look great in this match, which I think most City fans and players would agree with. By all pre-match predictions Inter shouldn't even have gotten all the chances they had to make it level, but such are cup finals and it made it a bit funnier for us rivals to watch. A complete smashing would have been quite boring.

And if you think this is cruel, well, they're very bitter rivals of ours and they didn't have any qualms when we recently lost it in 2015 and 2017, so it's to be expected (and they all did know it was coming if they'd lost.) I'm sure United and Liverpool fans would have done similarly if City had lost.

However, I watch European football intensely (I'm the embarrassed Lazio fan, who can't marry his liking for them with their fascist connections, and have only recently realised where my sub conscious loathing of Roma comes from) and City are a generational team who are a step ahead at the moment. The semi-final against Real Madrid is more of a benchmark.

Despite Inter coming so close, and unfortunate, I just couldn't envisage them winning tonight. I don't think I've felt that about an English team in a final since, well, forever. The Liverpool team of the late 70s and early 80s never breezed their way through a European Cup. City were unbeaten this year.

It may well be Newcastle United's turn in two or three years. Back in the 2000s I foresaw a brief period of English dominance in Europe which came to pass in part. For a few years I think we are looking at this again. Of course the term 'English dominance' is an idiom. It's not really English dominance as much as it is that of the petro dollar.

Anyway, to whom do we owe the pleasure of your presence on this forum ? Is it a De Zerbi thing ?

Yes, I agree. I was talking about the match, not about the whole season or the team in general.

As for me, yes I explained it a bit when I first posted on here but I sometimes keep tabs about Italians in the PL, and De Zerbi was getting a lot of good press here in Italy about his Brighton adventure; so I decided to take a closer look and watch some matches and here I am. I'm not a Brighton supporter like you guys but you're definitely the team I most want to do well in the PL. I'm not the only one either, lost of Italians are following De Zerbi's progress and there's always one or two Italian comments under Albion videos.
