Champion-CHIP or Champion-SHIP

Whilst taking Brighton to 5th place in Dv1 with Championship Manager 4 last night I got thinking about the way people pronounce this word: Chip or Ship

I say Chip!

Was gonna say ship which it should be as thats how its spelt, but after saying it over and over a few times it appear I pronounce it differently each bloody time

yeah weird that Gritt...I try to say ship but when in conversation it comes out...if anthing....schip, sort of a cross between the two but sounding more like chip than ship!
