122-3 at lunch, 189 ahead so declaration should be imminent
Effectively 189-4.

No idea how the pitch will play for the rest of the match. Conventional wisdom is that chasing more than 250 on the last day is usually very tricky. This pitch seems to have turned out to be fairly "flat", and presumably is not expected to break up and/or spin excessively, so maybe we could get 280+ against this attack.

Need to take 4+ more wickets before Tea.

Report says we dropped Slater on 23, who and on who's bowling, if anyone knows.

I feel they will soon have enough runs, still a few experienced batsmen for us could steep up, the Derby Commentator said on the first day they struggle to bowl sides out a second time. So some hope yet.

Hope is fading fast for even the most naïve of optimists.

Disappointing to be outplayed so far by Derbyshire - hopefully we will end the match strongly.

In other news, after conceding 404 runs vs Leicestershire, Worcestershire went on to score 493 and currently have Leics 7-3. Not as if we need them to lose or anything...

Any views on the decisions to put Northants and Derby in recently Moshe?.
Didn't really follow the Northants game but this Derby one seems a slight misread of the pitch that has been exaggerated by substandard performances.

They expected there to be more in it for the seamers at the start and that would be the best time to bowl before it flattened out. In a sense they got it right in that it has proved to be pretty flat throughout and shows no sign of deteriorating. The bit they got wrong was not making sufficient inroads on Tuesday morning.

Looks like Derby do not want to make a game of it and are batting on to ensure that we cannot go for the runs and just hope to bat out tomorrow for a draw.

Sorry to seemingly pick on you BG, but why on earth would they declare now with the lead only 300, when they have the whole of tomorrow to bowl us out? Make a game of it – they're in the absolute driving seat. If it gets to 350+ tonight, then sure maybe have 5 overs at us tonight, but not sure why they'd open the door when they have their foot on our throats.

They've won 1 game all season, they'll be desperate to secure the win here.

I think more accurately, it looks like Sussex do not want to make a game of it by taking those piffly wicket things.

Hosein on 50 so he'll be out soon with Derbyshire's 51 curse. 3 of their batsman out on 51 so far this match

I left just before tea - couldn't stand the general air of inevitability about the whole thing......Derbyshire sensing their second victory of the season against a Sussex side who clearly couldn't give a flying ****. Our bowling making their batters look good - which they are clearly not. Depressing.

Another win is neither here nor there for them now and they have only bowled a team out twice in 1 game so I would have thought that was a statistic they would like to rectify Leaving us an unlikely but achievable target could make the Sussex batsmen reckless going for the win. The less time we have to bat could put it beyond them irrespective of the run target.
