Take a bow son. Does not get anywhere near the credit he deserves. True he replaced the legend that was FDM(often overrated, imho). Ankergren is very underated, true he does not often come off his line, which people including myself, find a bit nerve wracking. But as long as the centre halfs know what he is going to do, the thats fine, they can deal with it. Only indecision causes problems between keepers and their defence. All things considered he is up there amongst the best we have had, up there with Roberts and Beeney. Casper take a bow son, lets all start loving "Casper the Viking"

His time wasting is quite comical. Previously I've thought he doesn't do it intentionally and is just looking for the best option available but the other night at Charlton, just before half time he just stood there with the ball at his feet waiting and waiting. Everyone seemed to stop not knowing what was going on  From F block yesterday I heard someone shout from the away end "f***ing get on with it" :lolol:

Other than that he is a good shot stopper, but deep crosses are always a bit worrying. Probably just edges it over Brezovan atm.

I think he does deserve a lot more credit than people here give him. He's a pretty safe pair of hands. I actually feel more confident with him in goal than I ever did with Kuipers (whose clearances were always heart-stopping) - although Michel will of course always be rightly regarded as an absolute legend (and on his day could be a magnificent shot-stopper). But yeah, let's hear it for Casper!

Perhaps just edges it over Brez in the shot stopping.. But the thing that makes Casper so good is his play with the ball, amazingly enough. Gus even mentioned it in his interview yesterday. Casper actually directs play from the back and is a crucial part of the way we play our game- when Brez replaced him in the cups you could see what we were missing!

he's a decent keeper, but what i REALLY like about him is his role in our passing game.......he's very good with the ball at his feet, and doesn't panic when receiving a shit back pass, which will inevitably happen atleast once a game

I think he's improved dramatically since he came here in terms of his handling and coming for crosses. I wasnt there yesterday but his handling against Charlton was very good (bar one slip i can remember). His shot-stopping has never been in dispute. He does a great job for us. And he wears white boots.

He tends to play more of a sweeper who can use his hands, rather than a goalkeeper.

He made a couple of excellent saves against Charlton, while following it up with some sloppy handling (needlessly giving away a corner, for one). Didn't have much to do against Leyton Orient, so credit for that, but there was an occasion at 2-0 when he poorly punched into the ground rather than cleanly catching the ball. That aspect of his game MUST improve.

He does deserve some credit, of course, and he has improved since he arrived, but not 'dramatically'.

Fair play. You've been to more games than me. I've been at uni so have only been to a couple of aways and only Charlton at home since Bournemouth. Just saying it as I sees it.

You relise that he's involved in nearly all of our moves, be it long ball or be it passing starting from the back... Quality keeper, only thing which worries me about him is he tends to punch instead of catch at set pieces/crosses

Severely overrated keeper who is the major weaklink in our team. Fills me with fear. A new keeper me thinks please Gus.

Quality Keeper who also doubles up as a sweeper. Plays some great pases to start things off from the back.

Hope he is here next season.

Brez is a good keeper but is not as accomplised at pasing and draging the opposition about.

Are you taking the piss or are you pissed up or on drugs?.Major weak link, oh that must be based on all the goals we have leaked this season and the few clean sheets we have had. A keeper is the marshall of his defence and the last line of defence.

It was a crap punch I'll admit, but to be fair to him it looked like Murray was about to collide with him- better to punch then catch and have it knocked out of his hands? Is how I saw it anyway, need to see the highlights..

There are times when punching the ball is better, but his punching is AWFUL.

I'd say better to catch having screamed at your team-mates get out of the way sharpish or risk a 6'2"+ lunk on top of you.

I assume you are joking here. He's not time wasting is he - he IS waiting for a good passign option. And in order to get that he holds the ball to force an attacker to come towards him, thus freeing up a man. He plays like an outfielder in this respect. So no, he is not time wasting. He is forcing one of the opposition players to come to him thus creating a one man advantage for Brighton. It's not complex - but it is bloody clever. Deserved his standing ovation when he did this v. Charlton.
