Does anybody have any spare Albion shirts, home or away, that they would like to sell for cash?

As long as the items are in good condition, I am interested.

Give me a PM with your details and we can go from there.

I hardly think that applies to Libra though, he's been with us since the Goldstone days. I'm assuming he just collects shirts. Nothing wrong with that. I have to say that I do still have a fair few old albion shirts but I like to keep them. Even the ones from when I was less of a fat **** and didn't need an XL size!

Just joshing. I thought he might be selling them on especially if he's been a fan since the Goldstone days, so he probably has all of them already!

I wish I could get in one of those! They're positively size 0 compared to the ones I get in

I still have an XL that I bought years ago that I found out I couldn't fit into. I don't have the strength in myself to go and buy the 3XLS or whatever size I actually am! :(

Sounds like a good business opportunity, to sell-on old shirts to the Johnny Come Lately's so they can claim they've been there ALL ALONG.

Of course you young people call such people "johnny come latelys". In our day, we used to call them "butterflies", but that was before the advent of Sky TV, when the only football we had to look forward to was either Brian Moore on a Sunday bleeting the usual bias to other local clubs like Gillingham. Those were the days when you would get to the ground, and see whether there would be some rickety old scaffold erected for the day, for the match of the day cameras.

If you think somebody who was banned as a steward from the Goldstone for giving that tosser Bellotti "too much lip" is a "JCL" or a "butterfly" then by all means carry on.

Ironic how most of those dishing out JCL comments, probably think Bellotti is a maker of fine olive oil!! Those of us who are old enough to remember that weasel, and who stood up to him, are far more deserving of gratitude than this such nonsense.

For those lovely cynics which this club has always attracted, I am simply trying to replace lost/damaged/worn shirts for my young son to carry on the tradition of supporting the Albion.

The rest is up to you delightful chaps on here. I have the cash, you have the shirts, lets talk.

Back to some sense of normallity here, thank you.

As somebody who has collected every league match programme since my first match in '76 (JCL? prats), I have now moved onto shirts, particularly those that have seen better days. For example my old wembley shirt (from '83 - JCL?) melted many years ago when my lovely mother had the iron too hot and the crappy material just disolved.

Thankfully modern shirts are better made, although I am sure a blind man measures the sizes for errea as no two shirt sizes are ever the same!

Any takers out there? Just PM me.

If this is meant as some rather poor attempt at a piss take, how many of you 'ancient' posters remember a squad player, from the Goldstone days, Glen Geard?

Or the old guy, passing round a bottle of scotch, on the old bus that took us from the station to the ground, in the snow at Peterborough?

If you remember this talented but in the end flawed player, and/or that memorable but bloody cold day, then sadly you are old like me and far from a JCL, Butterfly or any other daft name.

Grow up!

Lighten up! My comment wasn't even directed at you but rather at those who may be misidentifying seasoned fans as 'JCLs'.

I think Lush was just being playful and mischievous. No real venom in her words.

It might be said that everyone who supports the Albion who wasn't at the Seven Stars pub at the founding meeting in 1901 could probably be labelled a Johnny Come Lately to some extent. Everyone who supports the club has to start from somewhere and I'm of the view that being an 'old' fan doesn't inherently make someone morally superior to a 'new fan'. We were all new fans once!

This is a genuine request and offer for Albion shirts, home and away, by a long standing supporter not a 'JCL' as been quoted elsewhere by those who quite frankly are mis-informed at best.

Having spent years collecting every league programme from my first game in '76, I have now moved onto shirts. Mainly to replace those that over the years have suffered a little wear or bobbling etc.

I am interested in any size, but they do have to be in good condition.

I have a pile of cash, just waiting to be spent on such shirts, and so first come first served. When the cash has gone, its gone!

With the thousands of members on NSC, I feel sure that many have items laying around gathering dust. Why not take this opportunity to empty a drawer or two, and see some cash in return.

I would rather give my hard earned money to fellow supporters, than the companies on ebay, but I can only do so if you come forward with items.

Anything considered. Please PM me with details of anything you wish to sell.

I remember Glen Geard and his mate Paul Hubbard (goalkeeper) , both Whitehawk boys and the same age as me who were on the books at the Albion back in the old days

Somebody else that is also old but knowledgeable. Yes Mr Geard, hailed from the East of Brighton. Sadly, his talent was always overshadowed by his character. After leaving the Albion he did though have a decent number of years in the county league.

Looking back, how many youngsters have we taken on over the years, only to blow it with their attitude. I know at least two personally. I can't help thinking that if I had their talent, I wouldn't bugger about. The benefit of old age and wisdom!!
