NSC is strangely loyal to Nicolas despite the fact the fact he has had chances but has never really done ... well . . . anything

THis poll is better as it allows me to select get rid of both.

I'm not sure where this vision od Nicolas being good had come from. The games I saw him play in he was anonymous at best.

Always thought Nicolas looked a decent player. I really think Chippy is passed it now, but he may prove me wrong this season. The thing is, it's all very well thinking we'll keep him because he's proven in League 1, but if he cant do it in the Championship then if we get promoted we're in the same position. I'd rather have someone like Nicolas with longer left in his career who can build up to being a championship player.

Not really a fair debate as Chippy and Nicolas are different sorts of midfielders. From what I've seen of Nicolas he is very much in the Oatway mould, but Charlie is better at doing that job and we probably don't have room in the squad for two midfield stoppers.

Chippy didn't have a great season. But I think there are two reasons for that, that circumstances forced him back into the side way, way before he was ready, and secondly, that he had to shoulder a lot of the responsibilties in breaking up play that Charlie would normally do, which stiffled his natural game to a large extent.

That Commander is a very good post. And what's to say he won't look past it in lge 1 now? It's another year on.

Chippy is still a good player but lacked support at times towards the end of the season. He will come back fitted next year. Sorry to see Nicolas go as I think he was a decent player but he is in the Oatway mould and we really missed Oatway once he got injured.

Both - I'm not a fan of either of them, but the chances of us signing a decent centre midfielder are so slim, so keep both would surely have been worth a go.

Chippy will do well in League 1, where opposing midfielders are not nearly as quick or skillful

Why thank you. He may be up to it this year, he may not. But we know he cant cut it at Championship level anymore, so how can we possibly be moving forward by keeping a player who we know's top level is the one we've just been relegated to? It would be different if he was 25, but he's not.

Nicolas every time. There'd be a difficult choice if we were talking about the Chippy of two or three years ago, but clearly we're not - Carpenter's well past his peak, Nicolas is one of the most talented players in our squad. No comparison.
