He really is a twot isn't he, imagine what we'd be saying if an English player had spent 5 years in, let's say, Rome - Not bothered to learn the language, completely failed to try and adapt to any local culture.....

I caught the clip on the chat show in Argentina, did he really say that he hated the fame, and hated the fact that his family suffered because of it? Having just bought his kids on to stage with him?!? Knobend.

The bit that for me really took the piss was when he said he felt bad because when he took his family to the cinema they couldn't understand the films. What did he expect, them to all be in Spanish?

This is also a prime example of the pampered bubble the modern footballer lives in. He says he will never return to Manchester, ignoring the fact that that is where he is employed. What if City don't want to sell him? After all, it's not like they need the money.

He's obvously never been to that Chinese restraunt in Chinatown where you get the best crispy shredded duck I have ever tasted. Just ask MK Seagull and he will back me up.
Shame he's never ventured beyond a Dominoes takeaway or KFC.

You can't expect players from South America or Southern Europe to adapt to life in Manchester - it's just too alien and the weather too shite - La Liga or Serie A are the leagues most proficient players hailing from those parts desire to end up in, rather than the Premiership. Ronaldo wanted out of United from day two, no matter what noises he made to the contrary, and mercenary Tevez was an idiot to sign for City.

6 years, 292 apps, 118 goals, 3 Premier League winners medals, 1 FA cup winners medal, 1 Champions League winners medal, 2 League cup winners medals. I imagine he hated every minute...

Hardly bright though is he? He's probably just frustrated he's not got the skills to learn languages etc. Money can't buy you brains after all!

Sorry, not to pick your post completely apart, but the twat from Argentina has been in England since 2006, and moved to Manchester in 2007. He had 2 years at MU to decide whether the Manchester climate was going to suit, what did he think when he signed for City, that global warming was going to kick in!? He's a horrible mercenary idiot without absolute cows dung for brains.

p.s. large parts of Argentina are in fact very cold, wet and have glaciers...

The full quote I heard was that he said he would not go back to Manchester once his contract was ended. As for the fame and having his kids on the telly, I think you have totally missed the point he is making. His fame has taken him away from his young family who remain in Argentina. He had regularly said he doesn't want to stay but has obviously been persuaded otherwise by his club and no doubt his agent who makes a fortune from his clients wages.

Personally, I have some respect for him as he is obviously torn between what he can achieve in his professional career and the fact he wants to be with his family.

As for language skills, how many of us bother to learn a different language? We are lucky because English is pretty much a global language but if the boot was on the other foot! As for not being able to take his kids to the cinema, well I'm not sure he actually complaining and suggesting there should be spanish speaking cinemas everywhere, just stating a fact. He could play here for 3 or 4 years, move to Italy, or Germany. Would he be expected to be fluent in each of those languages? Obviously his best option would be Spain but maybe the clubs there won't pay what City do?

He's not as smart as some footballers and not as dumb as many others.

Way out west

...or covered by volcanic ash!

But, if they made every foreign player watch Corrie vids before signing for one of their clubs then maybe they would get a better feel for the place!

I would love it if City just kept him there for his contract but never play him.
He's just taking the piss out of his clubs supporters.

There's not much that can bring City and United fans together but he's managed it.
