Carlisle capacity 16k , crowd 12k

The ground capacity was reduced below the maximum because of the crowd control measures put in place following some 'trouble' at the league fixture earlier in the season. I guess some people may also have been put off by the events at the league game and decided to do something else yesterday evening.

I posted this on another thread but it's worthwhile reproducing it here. This is from a Carlisle fan and even he is complaining about the low attendence...

Posted by shinjo on 16 May 2008 00:19 We're a ****ing tinpot club, home truths ...

Lets face it we've played crap all season apart from Forest away, first half millwall at home 2nd half at leeds home and the playoff away.

Our board has no ambition and storys radio 5 interview proved it.

John Ward is an absolute prick who couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag.

The club couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery

Kieran Westwood is our only true decent player who will be sold for any money

Our fans are a farce who couldn't be arsed to turn up just cause it was on sky

Paul Huntingtons still a fecking tit even if he didn't celebrate the goals tonight and he'll get his just deserts on botch even if it takes the next 20 years to administer it.

There was gaps all over the place in the home end which is a shambles considering they could of given us an extra few thousand and made themselves some more money.

I am astounded that given a reduction in capacity Carlisle were able to give Leeds more tickets. I'd agree that they don't actually deserve to go up if a game like that couldn't fill every available seat for Carlisle fans.

Yeah it might have been scary given Leeds reputation but I doubt any more scary than Cold Blow Lane was the night we played our 2nd leg against Millwall, we still sold out our allocation though. But would having the game shown on Sky have changed that? I'm not sure it would, but who knows. It was a fantastic night in Albion's history that I wouldn't have missed, although I was very concerned when I had to break off from the mounted police escort on the way from the ground to find my car parked down a dark side street!!

The why did I have to beg someone who knew someone at the club to get tix, it wasn't because I was too lazy to go to the ticket office btw :lolol:

Carlisle didn't sell their allocation for the first leg either. Poor. As Alan Shearer would say.

I don't like Leeds but it would be easier next year without them. Leeds v Donny final? - quite a big game for Donny(!)

I was surprised when listening to the commentary by the fact that the play-offs are in their 21st year, didn't think they had been going that long...mind you, we were in our first final in 91...17 years ago, where did the time go?

Personally I hope Leeds go up so that they get out of our division and increase our chances of promotion next year. Leeds will be a bigger challenge in League 1next season than Carlisle who will probably be mid table at best this time next year.

I’ve noticed that attendances in the play-offs this year have been well below capacity. Palace had only 22,000 for their home leg with Bristol City.

..awaits SJLM and Croydon Bloke blabbing on about our attendances and the fact that the non-capacity attendance was due to:

1. A funfair in Ashburton Park causing traffic problems
2. A bumper edition of 'Living at Home with Chavs' being Sky the same night; and
3. The price of bananas in Costa Rica..

Nope none of those, BC only sold 1900 tickets for the game, and at the Police' s inisistence a whole block of seats had to be empty to separate home and away fans.
