Those of you who subjected this paper to a more detailed scientific review and scrutiny (which one would hope with the rigour of NSC being considered alongside Nature) would have found that there is also an A.R.S.E index and it covers A.R.S.E silencing too....

At risk of being terribly boring, the word "arse" is only really a thing for us in the UK, as well as Ireland and maybe Australia/ NZ.

Everyone else goes with "ass" so it stands to reason- if the researchers aren't from any of those places- that they wouldn't find anything remotely amusing about this particular acronym.

I like it when swear words don't translate. Homer once used the word "wankers" in The Simpsons, with the writers seemingly not considering it to be remotely offensive.
