It is a massive jump in class from the second to the first. Not so much the third to the second.

This time last year we were home to teams like Walsall, Grimsby and Gillingham. Thought we'd get something. Got sod all!

Mind you when we found our feet later in the season under SC we started beating teams like Wolves and Forest!

The gulf in class between the divisions is considerable alright, but we'll be OK.

The two new players we signed in the summer, John Robinson and Tony Vidmar, will be fine in the First.

We signed two more a few days ago, Alan Lee and Richard Langley, and they'll be fine too.

Another should be on the way within the next week or two, Eire international Gary Doherty from Spurs, and he should have no problems with First Division football either.

Then we've got players such as Alexander, Kavanagh, Earnshaw and Gabbidon who will have no trouble making the step up, and others such as Whalley, Croft, Barker, Campbell and Prior who have spent all of their careers in the top two divisions before they came to us.

We'll be OK once the team settles down - and we were actually very unlucky to get beaten yesterday. We were much the better team throughout and wasted any number of decent chances, but were sunk by two stunning goals.

The first was a brilliant effort from about 20 yards, and the second was an unbelievable strike from even further out. Apparently, it was the young lad's first ever goal, and I doubt he'll ever score a better one! Keep a lookout for it when they show the goals of the week on Sky - it's sure to be on there.

Bradford hardly managed a shot on goal apart from those efforts. We could play like that twenty times and only get beaten once - unfortunately, yesterday was the once!

Mid-table security for us this year. I honestly believe you would be wasting your money if you were to bet on us to get relegated. And remember, if we do look like we are getting into trouble, Sam will get his wallet out again.

Our situation is slightly different to how your situation was this time last year, on account of the fact that our chairman didn't put our youth team coach in charge of the first team during the summer......

If we've got four points after fourteen games I'll start worrying!

If he is loaded, why are Cardiff £12 million in debt?

The club is £12 million in debt because it has been spending large amounts over the last few years on players and wages. Come on Lush, surely you knew that?

Hammam is the guarantor to the bank loans and overdrafts.

I think Cardiff will be there or thereabouts come playoff time and might be tempted to have a little tickle on them.

LB - what was the crowd reaction yesterday? It's been a fickle bunch down Ninian over the past couple of years - lose a game and it's "Kav/Thorne/Lennie out", and 3 or 4 thousand off your next home gate.

Bozza: A very decent crowd reaction yesterday considering the result. The players were applauded off both at half time and full time.

Understandable, as it was a very good performance by City's standards. Much better stuff than we've been used to watching over the last couple of years under Lennie Lawrence, who must be one of the most negative managers in the league. It was almost exciting yesterday!

The play-offs is pushing it. I reckon we'll finish in the bottom half of the table, but we'll be clear of the relegation zone.

Lush: He is personal guarantor. The club doesn't own the stadium - it belongs to the council.

LB are there any plans to build a new stadium, or maybe use the Millenium Stadium once Wembley is finally rebuilt?

The plans for our new stadium are expected to be passed by the local council this week. In fact, the local papers announced last week that the plans had already been given the OK, and that this week's council meeting on the subject is a formality.

That's not the end of the story though, because the plans will then be called in by the Welsh Assembly planning department due to the amount of retail involved.

The whole thing is a massive development which includes the new football stadium (30,000 all-seater to start with, which will be increased in stages to 60,000 if the needs be), a new athletics stadium, a hotel, plenty of retail outlets, new housing on the existing Ninian Park site and major changes to the road and rail networks throughout the area.

It is hoped that the Welsh Assembly will pass the plans fairly quickly (they will be looking at the same recommendations that the council looked at before they gave the scheme the OK) and that work will begin by the end of this season. The new stadium should be ready for the start of season 2005/06.

I expect there will be plenty of delays yet, but the biggest bridge has been crossed with the council's agreement, so it's looking good.
