Cardiff not kept a clean sheet in 18. Not good enough not to score if we have automatic ambitions. Missed a good chance to really put some daylight between us and 3rd

Understand the sentiment, especially given Cardiff's position, however it's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes and the important thing was not to lose. We kept a clean sheet which we've not managed in the last two home games. Those two home games have been tough, with quality opposition. The guys have gone behind twice and managed to snatch 4 points when it could have easily have been just one or even none. Today puts some extra space between us and third as well as keeping us close to Newcastle.

Can't complain too much about that. Cardiff did a job on us under a canny manager, people seeming to think this was a guaranteed 3 points are idiots. On a positive note we still extended on the two teams directly below us. The worry is our performances have not been up to scratch recently and Leeds are a very good team so we need to improve if we are to get 3 points next Friday

Ah well, effectively 6 points clear of third on goal difference after Reading's pasting and one off Newcastle. Shame we couldn't capitalise but we've still gained ground.

Great point. Cardiff are ruthless at home and no doubt they might might climb above 2nd place from bottom.
