………balanced against the admin of sorting those 600 tickets from the masses, having the staff to deal with collections, dealing with the % that change their mind, not getting all the tickets from Charlton at the same time meaning collection dates might have to vary…..probably not a ballache they want
is it a ballache - the shop is open for next 5 days and has been open for the 10 days with staff there unemployed for most of the time . All they have to do is print a ticket off , a 3 minute transaction (or should be). It would be even quicker just to do print at home , not a ballache , the technology has been used for cup games in the past. I have been retired for 7 years but in my 35 years in computing nothing was impossible if you wanted it done.

Won’t the tickets be provided by Charlton in a format and timescale decided by Charlton

That was my thought, Shirley Charlton produce the ticket and send them to the club, would explain why my adult ticket being ballsed up at Brighton can’t be recreated and sent with my sons (which I am in receipt of currently)

I've been told to wait until Tuesday, and if no tickets, call the club and I will have to collect from Charlton on Wednesday night.
You'd hope it wouldn't be too tricky if the tickets don't arrive. I have a proof of purchase email with fan numbers & names. Surely therefore we'd only need to turn up at Charlton with proof of who we were and they'd reprint the ticket or alternatively just let us in at the turnstile???

That system works fine when numbers are low. Ironically I once lost my tickets for Brighton away and that’s exactly what I did. I think the issue here is the numbers involved which could make it a fairly trying experience.

Final batch of tickets released (assuming the last block was never available). Currently 224 available which should mean over 6000 sold with a week to go, so hopefully will sell out. Great effort. Charlton away was what I was hoping for before the draw and I suspect I’ll be back in Hastings quicker than I would have been if we’d have been playing at The Amex.

Normally in this situation (which for various reasons relating to me being terrible at life planning, I've found myself in on a number of occasions), you turn up at the ticket office, they ask your name and for ID, you provide both and they give you an envelope with your tickets in it. All very polite and painless, as long as you don't turn up 10min before kick off.
Amusingly given the chat around ticket sharing etc., you only have to provide the ID of the purchaser, not everybody who has a ticket.
Now, the proviso to this is that very occasionally (cough, Arsenal) they completely cock it up and the queue is an absolute nightmare, so arrive in good time and don't believe anything they tell you about having a separate collection point until you see it with your own eyes.
Oh, you do actually have to call BHA Supporter Services the day before to ask to collect. That's another pretty crucial step.

Tickets on sale until Tuesday 20th.
Last date to buy for postal delivery is Friday 16th.
178 left of our 6,300 allocation.

Normally the Jimmy Seed with 3K in would be a great away end on its own. Looking at photos of the ground, West Upper is also a nice perch tucked under the roof. Going to be a challenge for the chant starters to get all 6.3K Albion singing together but should be epic.

Balloons, beach balls and bog rolls/tickertape (especially launched from West Upper as the teams come out) order of the day.

They’re having a bit of a laugh if they think tickets despatched on 16th are going to arrive in time IMO given Xmas post and huge backlog due to strike days.

Good post. It’s such a shame for everyone that we won’t have more fans there because the atmosphere would have been superb, especially towards the north end of the ground.

It doesn't make any sense that people are already being told they have to pick up from Charlton because of admin problems. Why can't they send out a new ticket?

Because the Albion don’t have spare tickets. The tickets are issued by Charlton and the spares would come from the Charlton ticket office.

Sounds like a gap in the market for the development of some new technology to allow printing of same items in multiple locations.
