Son wants to fit a new radio in my car for me as the cd changer in the boot has packed up. I know I can buy one with USB I pod MP3 etc as cd changers are old hat now, at somewhere like Halfords and they will fit it for £24.99 at the moment but I can buy the same one at half the price from Amazon. Any body know of a mobile fitter or is it difficult to wire it in as my Skoda has operations from the steering column, which I would like to keep.

You need another widget to keep the steering controls in operation. As long as you get the right widget for the radio and car the fitting is quite straightforward, they have ISO wiring nowdays so the stuff just plugs into joiners so that the colour of the wire just follows on.
Oh then you have to buy the tool to get the old radio out.

May have done if you worked on the audio counter. I went into ask about it but it is actually my wifes car and she is reluctant to spend £125 she is quite happy with the radio it is me that wants other music.

Brother in law kept putting the magazine back in and out and then something clicked and it is now working but his son suggested to me that I should buy an I Pod with an attachment that apparently transmits to a radio station but I have no idea about such modern things. He suggested a nano or shuffle but didn't stay to tell me the difference as he was on his way out. Any advice please.

Problem solved daughter in law has purchased an attachment on E bay that goes off of a cassette in the radio cassette player and then connects to MP3.
