About an hour ago two cars had a head on collision on Valley Road.
One driver was an elderly woman and the other a middle aged man, both only had minor injuries. A paramedic was first on scene with an ambulance soon after, then two fire engines arrived and a police car shortly after.

The accident seemed to have happened where a traffic island was in place and they both tried to get round at the same time.

This road is getting worse!

Chicanes are always EXTREMELY WELL SIGNED - with a sign that is in the Highway Code, but is not understood by about 80 per cent of motorists.

In my defence, I was left unsupervised.

It's not the signage that makes them dangerous - it's the fact that people always try to squeeze through them even though they're SUPPOSED to stop. The reason being that if they get there first then you're going to have to brake to avoid a head-on collision. There's a particularly nasty set in Maidenbower (Crawley to you) where the local chav drivers won't stop as a matter of honour.

Sorry Everyone My Mind Has Turned To Mush It Was On Chalky Road

Thought so - that makes sense.

There are petitions going round to change that road to 20mph, but it won't stop people chancing their arm around there. Glad to hear it's only minor injuries this time.
