Captain Calderon

Mendoza

NSC's Most Stalked
Was he captain against Swindon? Interesting choice indeed. Is he vice captain? With Sparrow, Kitchenchef and Elphick on the pitch, Calderon got the nod...

Another few credits at the university of flaironautics for Calde

He was captain. Maybe he's worried it's too much pressure on Tommy and wants to leave him to focus on his own game. Dunno why Sparrow wasn't skipper though.

I couldn't hand him the armband after that debacle in the summer. Plus there are better leaders on the pitch.

Pathetic.

Right so a man deciding to go to Southampton, our rivals, on better money then after getting no firm offer decided he would come crawling back here is captain material?Im happy to have the best right back in the league playing for the team i love but there are more suitable players for captain.

Oh and calling someone else pathetic on an anonymous message board is frankly pathetic.

I think Calderon was quite clear that his first choice was always the Albion. He was obviously contacted by Saints and told Gus he was waiting for their offer. Gus then blew his fuse and told him he had 24 hours to sign or the deal was no longer on offer.
After Saints had offered more money and Calderon had time to consider he decided that he would stick with Gus and the Seagulls.

I don't see a huge problem, if Calderon had not graciously bothered to inform Gus that he was considering his options then we wouldn't have even known that there was an offer.

I think, knowing that he could have chosen more money, having him here after all of this shows just how commited he is to Gus and the Albion
