The late great Steve Walsh, albeit being shared with Radio London.

Does anyone remember him on Invicta Radio?

Kenny Everett - from an era where radio stations treated their audiences like adults, wouldn't happen today

Something for me.
Back in the early 70's, living at parents house in Hassocks, I could tune in to the Capital test transmissions on FM. Being a pirate fan and fed up with Radio 1, I was excited to be able to listen to one of the countries first commercial pop stations. And it was great. Dave Cash who was always having trouble with his teeth and going to the dentist, Kenny Everett and Captain Kremen, Roger Scott and many others. Maybe history has clouded my memories now but can only remember the good times. Then again I thought Rosko on Radio1 Saturday mornings was great until I listen back now.

Wonderful warm up for a night in Brighton (Shades, Druids, Deryk Carver Bar) and then the Pool Valley bus up to Cinderella's (Stroods) at Sayers Common.

Newsreader?

Ok, 1 more set of clues then I will give the answer.
Although I was live on air i was not alone, far from it.
As it was on MW you would have had to live in London to know what it was, this is no good for people who lived in Kent or Sussex.
If Amexruislip is around he may well know.
It was very popular but you had to be into a certain type of music.
The DJ of the 'Programme' has already been mentioned.
