in league 1 or 2 or lower and then gone on to be a Premiership star in the last 10 years?

It used to be lower league fans got the pleasure of watching a mega talent befor he got snapped up by one of the top clubs having played for a while in the lower leagues.

Seems to me that they get poached at youth level and i'm struggling to think of any Premiership STARS ( not players like Dawson or Etheridge or loanees from the top clubs getting experience!) who plyed their trade for a while at lower league clubs.

Real shame that players like Keegan (Scunthorpe) aren't seen at small grounds araound the country anymore :(

Don't beat yourself up, I couldn't list many others that could class as stars; Tim Cahill definately, maybe Hahnemman, Hunt, Bullard, Baines, Shorey and a few other Reading / Wigan players - but not really 'stars', no.

How low down the leagues were Fulham when Steve Finnan started with them?

Pretty low I think, I've a feeling he also spent some time in the Conference although that could be total nonsense. Sean Davis also has played in all 4 divisions for Fulham, and of course is now at Portsmouth.

Actually, I think Finnan might have started even lower. Peterbrough or Notts Co? I know one of the guys on Talksport talks about him now and again as being an ex-player of his team. It's either Adrian Durham (Peterbrough) or Macca (Notts Co.)
