Why not Dawson?

Not impressed on the few occasions I have seen him, nothing more than average and a bit slow for the top level. I accept that I may be wrong as I've only seen him on the box about 4 time...put it this way I can't see a big club being interested in signing him.

I ment why does he not count?
Playing in Europe and for a top 5 team, would indicate he has made the step up.
no slower than Terry anyway.

I was thinking more of players who went on to become stars, very few on this thread could be counted as that. Pretty sure that loads of players went from the lower divisions to the top level in the old days before the Premeirship. We,as lower league fans, have been deprived of seeing these future stars at a lower level..that's all

I agree, But I think Premiership clubs are not as stupid as people think.

I mean would you rather pay 11 million for Berbs or 18 for Bent?
3 for Mccarthy or 7 for Nugent?

Cant balme the Premiership clubs, nor can you blame the lower clubs.

wherever the money is
David Platt
He started his Career at Manure and then went to Crewe. It was like that a lot years ago but nowadays clubs just let their players go out on year long loans which never used to happen thus the face of football has changed making the big clubs bigger and the small clubs smaller.
