I know they are both on contract but I would love to see Slade have extra money to compensate for the loss of these two.

Puerile signings for sure. Tho hardly their fault somebody was dumb enough to give them a contract in the first place. Why pay them off? Prob best to see them see their contracts out somewhere - anywhere! - well away from the first team

If Barry Lloyd was responsible for the 55K signing of Dixon (my understanding is that he was), he should have done the honourable and resigned.

As for the lumbering Hawkins, his uselessness led to Micky's end.

haha, £4,800 a week!

Classic stupidity on NSC. To be fair, Hawkins is shit but Dixon is worse. Both have contracts, neither will be stupid enough to leave without having them paid up, knowing they're not likely to get another offer elsewhere!

As they are under contract surely they could do alternative jobs for the club. Perhaps Dixon could do hand stands in front of Gully's Girls and let rip the occasional wolf whistle. Hawkins could entertain us by singing The Wild Colonial Boy at half time, followed by a comedy double act with John Baine.

Ever thought that there is still time for Dixon to come good?
How many have seen him play?
How many times was he included in the first team squad?
I know that in a world that craves instant success he rates as a miserable failure but in a more adult world where achieving maturity takes a little longer (and that world must exist - you only have to look through this forum!) he still has time (and a contract) on his side.
Have patience!

Hawkins attracted rave reviews on here at the beginning of last season. He (rightly or wrongly) kept Lynch out of the side and he didn't look out of place. He was injured and came back too soon (see also Murray, Forster, Livermore et al..........) and he made one horrendous (nay, comical) mistake. As a squad player (and I suspect NOT a massively overpaid one) he may yet have value. We should perhaps not be so quick to write off experience and remember the invaluable job that Guy Butters did in helping to bring youngsters through....I wish we had kept him for one more year in truth.

Having said that Slade may well offload them both next week.....fortunately I'm not the manager :lolol:
