True. We should have a sub forum for Palace too. And every other club as well.

Except no other team is fantasized over on this board like saints, even Palace, they are just laughing at us one Saints Web, they really couldn't give a f***, we are just making ourselves look like small-time tin pot fools.

Here's a tip. Stop looking at Saints websites, switch off your phone/pc and go out into the sunshine for a beer.

I agree with the you over the over the top Southampton frenzy. But they are f***ing hurting inside!! They expected to walk the division, not trail miles behind small club Brighton. :D

Can we have a separate sub-forum for the Southampton apologists? All those people who think we've committed some terrible crime against our dear neighbours by pissing all over their expensive, much-vaunted squad and then not shutting up about it? And also those who think the opposite: that pissing all over Southampton is such a humdrum run-of-the-mill thing that we do every season and is therefore scarcely worth mentioning?

Then the rest of could revel in our constant scum-baiting in peace; these moments don't come round very often and I intend to savour every second of it. And guess what? I don't give a shit what they think about us on Stainsweb.

Why the f***, after the season we've just had, are we not aloud to gloat?

Because its becoming O.T.T and looking a bit pathetic?

I did enjoy winding them up last week, but this is just getting boring...

Am i the only person who thinks this?

Fair play to you then. It took most of us a while to realise how shit you were compared to us.

[You see this is great! How many other seasons in the last forty-odd years have I been able to say that?]

This, this and this again.

I'm getting fed up with limp wristed apologists telling us not to gloat, or be nasty.

These people need to man up, and enjoy these moments for what they are are - football is tribal and about bragging rights, so go ahead and enjoy every single f***ing moment, however you choose to do so.

Agree with that, but if the gloating is almost entirely based on a small quote and a largely imagined rivalry or arrogance it does become a bit pathetic!

But some fans on here who i guess are over 50, will confirm that saints were our rivals before Palace, which is a relatively late starter. If you heard that goon on talksport the other day, then their 'imagined arrogance' becomes far more real..!

As a side note, is it true that we have never finished above saints..ever ?

I don't think Southampton were ever our rivals, if they were it was before my first Albion game (1966). Before the Mullery v Venables rivalry of the late 1970s our rivals were probably Bournemouth. I say 'probably' because we didn't really have a local rival. Fulham and Aldershot came on the radar and we didn't like Luton or Swindon, but none of it was exactly Celtic v Rangers. That's why we were so grateful when the Palace rivalry started as it meant for the first time ever we had a team that we could all hate with a passion. Given our divergent fortunes since that brief period I'm genuinely surprised it's endured, but I know I'm in a minority in that respect.

I'm not sure how many times we've finished above Southampton but it may well be zero. Another reason why this is special. And for me it's got nothing to do with Adkins' quote or the 0-0 draw with Spurs, I personally have always hated Scumhampton. All those years of listening to South Today have made me bitter and twisted I suppose - and back in the 1970s when there were only three TV channels we didn't have any choice.

Not saying anything in this post that I haven't said before, but at least it bounces the thread back on to page one. Can't have the quota of Southampton threads getting too low, especially as Hustpierpoint was kind enough to start another one!

Me again chaps-i don't know any fellow Saints who thought we would finish top-most thought Charlton and sheffy wendy would be in the top 3.

Gloat away and enjoy-these must be great times for BHA so enjoy and i hope we renew aquaintences next season.

To the bloke who said he hates SFC because we seemed to dominate South Today-its funny cos every set of fans on the south coast believe its the other clubs who get most coverage.
