I am sorry to say NSC has entered one of it's "Twighlight zones" and if you beleive the posts of the loonatics on here then ***OFFICIALLY*** the metaphorical wheels of the Gus-Bus have come off. Wrong.

Some booed the team, critiscised the manager, the team, then the manager critiscised the fans and now we are at the point of such endless misery that we have to make up "new songs", as if Das Reich belting out the german national anthem replacing "Deutschland" with Albion is going to make us not DRAW in the Fa cup 2nd round.

Some really need to get a grip. We are top of the league, 4 points clear, have the best manager outside the Premier League and a damn good squad to boot and our so called "dip" has seen us lose one game in SIX. Forget who we are playing in the cup, it is the cup, it happens. We are the team to beat at the moment and could bost being the highest ranked team in the competition so teams are bound to raise there game against us.

Yes we may have the most un-clinical striker I have ever seen play football as our top goalscorer, but we are playing teams off the park and just wait and see what happens when the strikers start scoring, there will be CHAOS. And on a final positive not, if you think we are playing bad at the moment then don't worry, we appear to have JESUS playing at right back.

Up the Gus, Up the Albion :falmer::falmer::falmer:

Good stuff. Definitely some perspective needed. My only lingering concern is the lack of a clinical striker but I think Gus will figure it out. Hope it doesn't take him too long is all.

I don't think the fact that we drew against lowly opposition and a few fans booed is the reason why NSC has had one of its wonderful binfests.IMHO,if Poyet hadn't reacted in the way he did after the game, much less would have been said all round.
I know he was disappointed, but he should have ignored the few boos, said sorry to the fans for the performance and certainly not have made a veiled threat such as 'I can get fed up too you know'.Telling fans to stay at home was not the wisest advice either.
He has made a very promising start but there is a long way to go and I hope he succeeds. However,a thicker skin and a little more humility wouldn't go amiss at this time.Don't blame the fans or the ref, Gus, when things don't go to plan; admit to the odd mistake now and then and you will find that the majority of right thinking fans will appreciate the honesty.

Agree with the op's. All the whiners and moaners should f*** off and find another sport for their entertainment. They aren't supporters in my book anyway.

Still top of the league by 4 points, Never expected to be there in my wildest dreams at the begining of the season. Playing amazing football, Had some of my best away days already this season with plenty more to come.
Yeah we've had a couple of blips against determined opposition in the cup, But they've got so much to play for it was arrogant of some people to expect them to turn up & roll over.

It was like in the aftermath of the FCUM game all the normal people on here had been replaced by headles chickens, panic merchents & over opinionated keyboard warriors.

Gus is as entitled to his opinion as we are to ours and if, by expressing his opinion he offends some delicate, precious sensibilities, so what?

All managers have to put up with the ridiculous extremes of fan opinion - why should they not voice their views?

Even though I think booing is utterly pointless and counter-productive I totally defend the right of people to so ...just as I totally defend the right of Gus to criticise it if he so chooses.

Yes we may have the most un-clinical striker I have ever seen play football as our top goalscorer

On SSN before the world cup, they compared the stats of Wayne Rooney, Messi and Ronaldo. Rooney scored 18% of his shots. Fractionally over 1 goal every 5 shots.

Before saturday's game, Ashley barnes had 7 goals and had taken 45 shots, 15.56%. That's one goal every 6.43 shots.

Perspective.

We are doing super, and I am mighty pleased with how things are going. No caveats, we are going in the right direction. Personally I never boo, but I think Gus has overreacted more than somewhat and saying he can get fed up and for people to stay at home is just silly.

Support throughout the game, boo at the end if we must - but bear in mind what sort of managerial options are out there if Gus walks.

I don't approve of "love me or I'll kill myself"-style blackmail, but Gus is right to wonder what some spectators think they're entitled to - and this will only get worse at Falmer, where 10,000+ extra "fans" who haven't been since 1983 will suddenly descend and mutter "same old rubbish" at the first sign of a 0-0 draw.

If anyone remembers our first division days, think back to those people who expected us to win every week because that's what we'd done in the third division and couldn't accept that a scrambled 1-1 draw against Coventry was worth any number of 4-0 hammerings of Lincoln City ...

It been a typical over reaction from those who are desperate for something to moan about and have had precious little to do up till now because we have been playing well.

Perspective, then. We are four points clear at the top of the league and in the hat for the third round of the FA Cup, with a relatively easy game to win to seal a tasty tie with Pompey. All excellent.

However, that is now six games without a win in 90 minutes, three of which were against non-league teams way below us in the pyramid. Once is unlucky, three is very poor. By any standards that is a sizeable blip, and there is only one way to get things back on track, and that is a couple of wins. Immediately.

IMHO,it does not go down well with even mild mannered fans like me to have veiled threats issued by the manager. It was an ill considered outburst and one now that I think he may well regret.Just because a few fans boo it does not mean the manager is correct in responding to the fans by issuing veiled threats;he should be above it.
P.S.I am not delicate or precious,I have been supporting the Albion since 1963 so I must be damned thick skinned!!:lolol:

I wholeheartedly agree.

I have left this site for abit due to the doom and gloom.

Me too.

Like the few that boo and shout abuse at the manager and players from time to time at games they don't make anywhere near the majority.....It is the same on here.

I heard someone shout "this is sh*t sort it out now Gus" after the game. I think this person needs some "perspective".

Whilst we have a slight dip form, which the loss of Lua Lua has an affect, we should show some kind of respect for what we have acheived thus far.

That may be true, but I don't see what that has got to do with three draws against Woking (twice) and FC United. This argument would have relevance next season in the Championship. Woking and FC United probably dream about being half as good as Lincoln.

The reason we have not won those games, and in the process cost ourselves potentially costly extra games, is because the attitude hasn't been right both from the manager and the players. Personally I think the attitudes running through a club stem from the manager, so Gus, for all his brilliant efforts, has to take a bit of criticism on the way these ties have gone.

It's not hard to understand is it. For FCUM it was their cup final. They were very up for it and gave everything. Look at us when we played Man City, Aston Villa and Spurs before that.
