You have no idea how tempted I am by this.

Do you know where the nearest Iron Lung is stationed?

We've an XL keeper's shirt if that's any use?;)

cant do this weekend due to temporary knee injury but could be interested in the future if similar shortages occur...

They occur fairly regularly. I will be in touch! [Don't play in goal by any chance, do you?!]

nah sorry - general short arsed nature means goal isnt the favoured place, at least not since Under-sevens cubs.
Just to ensure embarrasment isnt forthcoming what is the general age-range fitness/standard type thing.

It's the 1st Div [2nd tier of 4] of the Winchester and District Sunday League.

About 6 or 7 of our team are early to mid 30's, the others are younger.

The other teams, rather unfairly, all tend to be younger and fitter.

The general standard of play is nothing special. The standard of individual players varies enormously. Some are very talented [on other teams!], some are spectacularly shithouse.

We have a lad called Pat, or 'superPat' as we like to cal him who is most probably the worst footballer in the entire country. Seriously.

I used to play in that very league and at that level!

might have found you a goalkeeper though - one from my midweek team. Availability dependent on kick off time

Please God, say it is so!

It is kick-off 10.30am, at King Geore V playing fields [at Bar End, right by the M3]

We can give him a lift if he needs it.

I can't remember the name of the team. It might have been "St Cross" or something.

And Reigate to Winchester is a long way when you've got two kids to look after and your wife is in Manchester all weekend!

But you're right to ask me. I'm blimmin SKILL. :drink:

There's a playground at the park where we play. They'd love it.

I've played in that league for 12 years [Ginger left back, long service award - I AM Kerry Mayo!] so I've probably kicked you at some point.

I've just remembered who I played for - HYDE UTD - and we played in red. Which was handy when I smashed my face up and ended up in hospital for 3 hours - because the blood that covered my shirt didn't show up quite as much.

I last played there about 14 years ago - I left the Winchester area in the early '90s.

But do you get relentlessly slaughtered on twyfordgapchat.biz every time you play?

Most probably, but its water off a duck's back now!

I take all the long throws too. The similarities are uncanny. My wife is not called Simon though!

That, and living in Cowdenbeath, presumably?

Any better excuses from any of you?
