It seems that Cheltenham have seven players on loan. This takes me back to the Sami Hyypia days. If the rules haven't changed this year, you can only have five loan players in a match day squad. This means that two of the loanees are going to not even make the squad for every game. Peupion joined in September and has been available for only seven of their twelve league games so far this season. He's been on the bench for four of those and each time he was named, came on as a sub. Most recently in the game before last when he played half an hour against Fleetwood. It's early days. I'm not quite clear what the panic is.

Would guess that DudsFarm's post (#109) seems the most likely, bearing in mind his location. His absences from the squad are mainly since the new manager arrived. I don't think a lower level loan is required - just a better one. In the meantime, if possible, have him back training with the Albion.
Can already see from a few appearances this guy ain’t gonna make it for us
After four short cameo appearances in a struggling team? Okey-doke...........................

Only the top top players at under 23/21 level make it possibly one a year. Cams not one of those and hinsh isn't either

That's not the case. Clarke's been in charge for two league games. Peupion wasn't picked for one, but played 34 minutes in the other. That's his longest league appearance so far. He wasn't in the squad for their EFL Trophy game, but he did play for us in one. Are you cup tied by playing in the EFL Trophy?

Shame Harry Kane, Ian Wright and Jamie Vardy never made it then!

True, most youngsters who start out apprentices won't make it to the top - but not on the basis of four short cameos for a dodgy side at the bottom of League 1 without a goal in 11 matches!

He started against Walsall for us this season so he’s unable to play for Cheltenham in the EFL trophy.

7.13 - No Player may play for more than one Club in the Competition in any one Season.

Thanks. That means that since the new manager started picking the team, he's picked him in one of the two squads he could have picked him in.

Don't know about cup tied - but it may complicate loaning him out to a better loan in January (the three clubs in a season rule?)

Nonetheless, #DudsFarm's point is valid - Clarke has said in interview (linked the the Cheltenham fans' forum) that late loanees and U21s aren't up to it, as League1 football is very different to U21 football.

Being recalled apparently

Somewhat optimistic take in that article. Presumably, he's being recalled due to lack of minutes at Cheltenham rather than to bolster our bench.

I’m seeing reports that we’ve recalled this lad from loan.

So, our Jan/Feb wingers when our regulars are at AFCON/The AFC Asian Cup will probably be Peupion/Mazilu/Baker-Boaitey/Barrington/Hinshlewood
