Calling all H Block exiles

I have been an H Block season ticket holder since the so called singing section was first established. Sadly, I have become very disillusioned over the last couple of seasons. Leaving aside the tedious and infantile baiting of the stewards (its not big and and its not clever) , I have found the continual abuse of the away fans both unfunny and boring (I thought the idea was to get behind the team). Ironically last night was , slightly ,better but I decided to move to a different seat for the second half to see what it was like. I ended up in J Block and I have to say that, although rather quieter, I rather enjoyed it. I`m thinking of moving away from H Block permanently but would like to sit somewhere where there is at least a bit of atmosphere. Any suggestions on where to sit from anyone else who has moved away - I guess if you want atmosphere the obvious answer is don`t go to Withdean at all !.

Not so much of the old thank you !. Just getting a little less tolerant these days. Think the North Stand might be few years off yet.

Did the stewards know that you were sitting in a J block seat that did not corespond with that denoted on you ticket
Could have been thrown out for that.

I don't think H block is as bad as people are making out. I have sat there every time I have attended a game at the Withdean and admittedly it does get slightly more chavy every year.

This year i have to say is not as bad as last. There is a good atmosphere while in the stand and while people on here MOAN about the songs about the opposing fans and palace, doesn't that happen at every club? I have never know there to be no banter between the two sets of fans and there are always songs about rivals at every club.

The berating of the stewards is something I don't agree with but 90% of the time it is light hearted banter and even the steward last night was joining in with us. H block does not in any way add to the apparent bad atmosphere, it is the rest of the ground that refuse to sing.

No complaints from me about the Palace chants. I don`t mind chants about opposing fans either. What I , and others, object to is the continual abuse of the away end instead of supporting the team. I also have to say some of the chants ("we`ve got running water" springs to mind) are just pathetic and not even funny.

I agree the stewarding situation has improved this season but it remains to be seen for how long.

I never suggested H Block contributes to the lack of atmosphere - on the contrary, we try our best to improve it. However it could , and should , be a whole lot better. By the way , you are right - it does get more chavy every year !.
