Byfield ponders Millwall future

Byfield is not sure if he wants to stay at Millwall
Millwall striker Darren Byfield is considering his future at the club.
Byfield did not appear in the official team photograph and did not feature in Saturday's 2-1 pre-season win against Sierra Leone.

Chairman Stewart Till told the club's website: "From our point of view the door is not closed on Darren but he must prove he's committed to us."

Byfield, 30, joined from Gillingham in June 2006 and finished his first season as Millwall's top scorer with 16 goals.

Sign him up if he's available. I've said before that we need another quality striker if we're going to push for a top 10 finish, we can't rely just on Forster

saw this today and thought it was our golden oppurtunity. The club are obviously interested in him as we bid earlier in the year, come on get him in!

Millwall wanted 300 grand for him we would only go up to165,000

if he doesnt want to play for them though they might be willing to get rid cheaper

is very effective with a target man, although his attitude can be bought into question

Strikers we have a plenty, a striker with an attitude we don't need, anybody remember The Poison Dwarf ? We need a midfielder (or two) and a goalkeeper. Frankly if Byfield doesn't want to play for Millwall who many people fancy to go up then I can't see him coming here in any case.

We already have enough strikers and we will not be able to afford him anyway. I mean, Millwall will sell him off cheap but he was on about £7,000 a week at The New Den, which is way beyond us.

Also he was not popular among the Lions support as they thought for the money he was on he did not pull his weight.

Best leave him be.

think he would be a good signing but more important is midfield. Let's concentrate our meagre resource there

reckon he'll be a great addition to bring in now to prepare for the Championship next season and hopefully keep us up there this time , and it can be done if this New Zealand lad does well in his trial we've sorted out 2 of the 5 positions we need!

He wants out from Millwall because he had a punch up with Richard Shaw on their pre-season trip to Scotland. To be honest he should be given a wage rise for punching Shaw.
