where is the best place to buy trainers - both in terms of best value - and also service (where they look at your running gait etc) where they recommend certain shoes ?

any suggestions ?

I did the old wet foot on newspaper to see exactly how your foot lands when you run.then somewhere online it tels you which trainers best suite you.Ebay is always worth a look for running shoes.

Run in Hove. They are really nice as well as knowledgeable. They will spend as long as it takes to find you the right ones. Highly recommended.

Argreed... and just 15 years of age too!!

DON'T go to sole trader, they add 10-15 quid on every pair of shoes they get in.. and they're all legal in there too......

My advice is to do some research! Have a look (shops or interweb) at the kind of trainers you fancy; draw up a short-list; have a look around the places in brighton that might sell 'em; try 'em on for size/try some alternatives; make your choice; buy them on the spot/check out the price at other retailers/see what you can get them for online; pay; wear & enjoy

Pray tell more.

Bom Banes is tiny little place with room upstairs for about 12 at a squeeze. there is a cocktail bar downstairs. Basically they just do simple Belgian food, mostly sausages and stoemp, with the odd special. It's got the most interesting tables in town including one that revolves. You really have to see it for yourself. Get involved! Main dishes no more that 12 quid. Plus, if you're lucky, the waiting staff with sing to you (the owners husband plays live with Arthur Brown.

Bom-Banes Restaurant

It really is fantastic.

agreed - the staff may not give the best technical support but will have you looking fly in a pair of '88 ZX500s in a funky colour scheme that no one else on the next 10k you do will be sporting

and they stock lyle and scott....
