I just phoned Brighton & Hove Buses to find out what exactly was meant by 'allow extra travelling time to get to the match'.

North Street is closed in both directions from 6.30 to 7.30pm, thanks to the Burning The Clocks parade, so the buses going from the City Centre to Withdean will turn up Queens Road, turn right down North Road and left into London Road, before continuing their normal routes. A normal service is expected, but there may be some delays on account of the fact that North Road won't be able to accommodate buses in the same way that a supposedly car-free North Street can. (That last sentence I'm paraphrasing from the what the woman on the phone said).

Coming home... "Brighton & Hove Buses will lay on the same service as for any other match".

Bugger. Unless the club has organised some more... :(

Still, at least we know now - despite the despicable concept of it eating into valuable drinking time, I suppose I could walk.
The alternative route has to be a lot quicker as there isn't any usual route bus stops to pick up/drop passengers at.

I nearly wet myself looking at those photos. And I can't believe 14th Eye is mocking my hair. YES HAIR. Remember that?

Genius lads.

It was me who raised the bus question with ATC.

Despite the rather rude brush off, at that time, i am pleased to see that the Club have now, at last, pointed out the possible travel problems on their website.

Better late than never, i suppose, like those late comers to the match on Friday!

I'm having an afternoon oe eats & drinks and always miss the kick off.

DTG - I have contacted the bus company TWICE on this in the last 10 days and had no response.

Ergo, I am a bad fan and taking my 2 to the panto instead this Friday.

I've had email correspondence with BHBCC (Brighton and Hove Bus & Coach Company) today on the question of extra buses back from Withdean to central Brighton tomorrow evening. They were very helpful, summary is as follows:

There will be three buses (marked service 5) leaving from the stop at the bottom of Tongdean Lane after the game. Capacity of each is approx 90 persons per bus and that's it everyone. They've said this is what the BHA has requested and advised we should get on to the club if the service being provided is insufficient.
