Just a heads up. I got a Megabus return trip from London to Sheffield for £10.50. Think the return train fare is about £60 so if anyone is looking for a cheap option 3 and a half hours on the Megabus could be it!

There's one that leaves at 8:30 and gets to Sheffield around 12:00, and then coming back leaving at 7:00 and arriving in London at 10:30.

They also do train deals every so often, is worth a look.
For example, i just booked for the grandparents to go to London from Portsmouth on the train (live on Isle of Wight), and they say it usually costs £30+ at least, cost £2 return and takes no longer than the usual train!!

Aye? Are you sure? Not from my results there not.

Earliest gets you in at 14:52.

Last one out leaves at 14:27.

???

I meant the price, I might get the train there and bus back.

Will 2.52 leave me enough time to get to the game?

Me + 1 might be getting that same bus.

Haven't been to Sheffield before. Apprently arrives in 'Meadowhall Interchange', which is a good 15 minutes drive from the ground. Obviously drinks may be in order prior to the game. So if you want to share a cab, make yourself known.

Sounds good mate, I also checked trains from Meadowhall to Sheffield main station and they go about every 10 mins, cost £1.50 and take about 10 mins so could be an option!

Meadowhall on a saturday can be absolutely mad, have family up there and it seems the entire city either goes to the football or to Meadowhall. Just dont leave yourself short of time, as it can take ages to get out, even in a taxi (i presume) and then to get across town inevitably on a saturday.
