Dara O'Shea is also suspended following his dismissal last weekend but goalkeeper James Trafford is available after recovering from illness.
Julio Enciso and Tariq Lamptey have been added to Brighton's injury list, leaving them without nine players.
Billy Gilmour, James Milner and Adam Webster are making good progress in their rehabilitation but remain out.
MATCH FACTS
Head-to-head
- The 37 league games between Burnley and Brighton have produced 11 wins apiece and 15 draws.
- The reverse fixture in December ended in a 1-1 draw, with Simon Adingra equalising after Wilson Odobert had given the Clarets the lead.
- Brighton have won two of their 11 Premier League matches against Burnley, though that includes two victories in their last three visits to Turf Moor.
- Burnley's tally of seven red cards for players this season is the most by a single side in a Premier League season since Aston Villa and Newcastle both accumulated seven dismissals in 2014-15.
- The Clarets have scored nine top-flight goals from outside the box this season - only Manchester City, with 12, have more.
- They have lost 21 of their 32 Premier League games this season, only losing more times in a top-flight season in 2009-10, 1975-76 and 1970-71.
- Vincent Kompany's side have lost a club-record 11 of their 16 top-flight home matches this season.
- Jacob Bruun Larsen can become the third player to score in three consecutive Premier League home games for Burnley, emulating Danny Ings in 2015 and Ashley Barnes in 2019.
- Despite winning five of their opening six league matches this season, Brighton have claimed only six victories in 25 subsequent games (D10, L9).
- They scored in each of their first 16 Premier League fixtures this season, but have failed to net in seven of their 15 league matches since.
- The Seagulls are at risk of losing consecutive top-flight games for the second time under Roberto de Zerbi.
- Having conceded 30 Premier League away goals in the current campaign, Brighton are two short of equalling a club record on the road in the competition.
- Joao Pedro has scored 19 goals in 34 appearances for the Seagulls this season, the most in a single campaign since Glenn Murray netted 23 in 2016-17.
- Danny Welbeck has failed to net in all 10 of his Premier League appearances versus Burnley.
