Looking at league position and kit, me and my brother have plumped for the obvious - Hertha Berlin.

Same here. The only Bundesliga game I've ever been to was Hertha Berlin vs Schalke, so I'll always have a soft spot for them.

Funny chart. I chose to watch Hertha when I first lived over here temporarily about 14 years ago. I have seen Hertha numerous times home and away since then so it has to be them.

Done the tour of the Hertha stadium and the shirt is very comparable so its then for me

I have been to a couple of Union Berlin games (when they were in Bundesliga 2) - amazing experience. The fans pretty much built the stadium, if I recall. I think they are possibly seen as the "good guys" in Berlin, whereas Hertha are not so well loved. But I could have that wrong.

I would rather watch paint dry than German teams playing in a league I don't care about, in empty stadiums that I have no affinity to, whatsoever....on a television.
Brighton goal scoring legend Mark Farrington used to play for them as did Balogun.
I’ve seen a few Union games in my time as well, including two Hertha derby games. Saw a friendly against Leeds and a very fiesty cup game against Bablesburg which was a derby-ish game back then.
My understanding is that Union are seen as the “real” football club and working class side whereas Hertha are the modern football yuppies. There’s also the East/West angle as well.
