With the transfer window re-opening in just a month, I thought it would be useful to look at what business we’ll be doing. With so many key players approaching their final year, I think we’ll be doing a lot of business. I think the club will target free agents to bring in but will have to spend the big money on a LCB and that Paraguayan forward who seems to score a-goal-a-game since we came sniffing at Christmas.

All the players I’m guessing we’ll sign have been linked with the Albion already.

It’s going to be a very young squad but I’m confident that players such as Webster, Veltman, Lallana and Welbeck can bring the experience we need in the squad.

An exciting summer in store?

Sanchez

GK
Sanchez
Steele
plus some kiddo (McGill?)

Central defenders
Lewis Dunk
Adam Webster
Joel Veltman
Jean-Paul van Hecke

Full/wing backs
Marc Cucurella
Tariq Lamptey
Solly March

Central midfielders
Alexis MacAllister
Moises Caicedo
Adam Lallana
Pascal Gross
Steven Alzate
Enock Mwepu

Kaoru Mitoma
Rheda Khadra

out: Duffy, Bissouma, Trossard, Maupay, and a lot of currently out-on-loan players either getting sold or loaned out again. Sarmiento 50/50, could see him staying but also could see the club feeling it is a good idea to loan him somewhere where he could play week out week in.

in: van Hecke, Mitoma, Khadra, new multiple-role attacking player (Trossard style)

Think you’ve nailed it, but think Trossard would stay.
Would also consider Cochrane as LWB cover

Agree that it's likely to be similar to that. Just a few comments.

A keeper who can actually pressure Sanchez for a place would be a nice to have.
We definitely should be looking at the 5th CB and I agree someone on the left side.
It's RWB, not LWB we need some extra cover
I think a few more of your development loans will be sold. Cochrane, Zeqiri, Dendonker. However I think Khadra will make the squad.
I'll be pleasantly surprised if we make 4 new first team signings.

We'll see with Tross, agree there is a chance he sticks around but IMO more likely to go. Not getting younger and probably wants to take another step upwards in his career.

Thought about Cochrane but he is out of contract in the summer and has said things about that he is keen on putting himself in the shop window etc. Think he'll probably will move though GP obviously thinks he has potential as he was on the bench several times in GP season 1.

Keeper: Rushworth (McGill on loan);

New LCB: Clarke (possibly on a temporary basis for a year until Roberts is ready);

New LWB: Ww've got Cucu and March for that - new RWB Offiah (with Veltman also available for that role);

CM: Kozlowski more likely than Richards, who's had negligable experience of senior football;

New wingers: We don't play with wingers - those two are plenty;

New forward: That is Undav;

Loans also potentially needed for Tsoungui, Miller, Ella, Spong and Peupion, plus better loans for Jenks and Weir (if we're still allowed to have that many out on loan?);

I don't think we'll get anything like the prices quoted for our leavers;

Finally, even though TB owns (or part owns) USG, we can't just fob them off with paying us money for our cast-offs!

Is this fact or your wish-list?

Not facts, I don’t work for the club.

Not a wish-list, I’d keep Biss, Groß & Trossard.

It’s a forecast based on transfer rumours, past window activity and the fact that half a dozen player’s contracts will run out this summer or next year.

I would be surprised if there are 4 new signings too.

Maybe a replacement for Trossard if he goes. I expect Van Hecke, Khadra, Mitoma and Undav to be added to the squad. Duffy, Maupay, Biss and March to leave. A new four year contract for Mac and another year for Danny.

But you never know!!

I think Potter said Kozlowski would be part of the first team set up when we signed him. It was selling point that helped us beat Liverpool to him.

New deal for Maupay not sure about that on recent developments. A younger taller striker who can hold the line similar to Welbeck would be ideal.

I can live with Biss leaving but would be gutted to see Trossard leave as well. I think he should stay - it is WC year, he'll get 1st team football here, possibly in a top half Prem side too. A move to a new place, new club could put that at risk. I think he is worth a much improved contract.

Four new (1st. team) signings is just wishful thinking. I'm not even sure we'll be that active in the youth market, give the plethora of good youngsters we're aleady having to try and find loans for (or get a decent fee and a return on our investment for).
