Budget hotel chain advice for France please

Could some kind person on here give me the name(s) of the Travelodge equivalents in the country of our Gallic cousins? Trying to organise a stopover for next years holiday - we are getting too old to do it in a day now!

Precise location would be somewhere just off the A28 about halfway betwixt Rouen and Le Mans if anyone is able to go into that much detail.

Ta!

I'm pretty sure it was you who helped me decide on Vendee as a region for my first French holiday. The family all loved it !

Even if not, I still feel honour bound to help out here. The link below is an F1 next to the the A28 at Alencon, nearer to Le Mans than Rouen, but not too far away from half way.

Premiere Classe which were part of the Formula 1 group but are now a seperate company , I believe they are part of Accor. They have a double bed with a bunk single bed running across the width of the bed but above it. All rooms have TV showing Chanel (sky type) The advantage they have over the Formula 1 is that they are fractionally dearer but are all ensuite as opposed to having a toilet and bathroom per 4 or 5 rooms. The price per room when we used them this year en route to Portugal was between 20 - 30 Euros per room for up to 3 people.

Campanile are good, and have serviceable restaurants attached too. Premiere Classe are a bit shite, although they're certainly cheap. Between the places you mention, there's a decent place in Alencon ... I can't remember if it's a Campanile or not, but made for a good stopover.

Wouldn't personally recommend Formule 1 if going with a family - no en-suite, rooms like a matchbox.

Etap are already better for not a lot more money. Always had no problems with Hotel B&B chain although pay attention to reception times! Stayed at one in Chartres a couple of years ago - would recommend. Chartres is a nice little place to stop off.

Ibis/Campanile step up from Etap & B&B.

Ibis is good and they're all over the place.
Used them loads when we used to live in Spain and travel back quite regularly.

It depends on what you want. If it is a case of a stop over to sleep then drive on next day they are ideal for a couple or even 3 friends but I certainly wouldnt stay in one for any more than a quick stopover for 1 night. We used them for this when we drove to both Cyprus and Portugal. and had no complaints. We checked in had a shower went into town for a meal and back to bed, up in the morning and on the road again.
