I've broken my nose or had it broken for me loads of times. The first time I did it I was told that they could break it back but that they would have to wait for the swelling to go down just like you. As I'd heard that having it broken back hurt more then breaking it in the first place I never went back and after a few more breaks since my nose now goes in several different directions all at the same time. I think it makes me look a little hard but it does make wearing glasses a pin in the arse.

yeh they always have to wait till the swelling goes-they then offer to put it back into place using two steel rods.....a very painfull ordeal and only for the brave....if you're the kind of person who gets their nose broken regularly probobly not worth it but if you've got a viscious wonk in it then it may be worth it.......you may want to bring something to bite on....

Broken the same nose twice.First time as a kid ,second time playing basket ball.

Both times, doc said see how it goes.First time mum said looks ok,stop crying or I'll break it again.

Second time at second visit doc said it has set straightish, leave it be.

Nose looks straightish,wobbles a bit.

But I have stopped crying.

Had mine broken once but I shoved it back into position myself with the base of my thumbs & its 99% perfect now.

No one has ever commented on or noticed it.

Had mine broken in a pub in Clapham.

Asked those around me whether it looked straight and the said no.

I then grabbed hold of it and forced it back to the side I had been hit on. I'll never forget the cracking sound I heard and felt.

Swelling went down and looks pretty good.

I had mine broken and then had to wait 2 weeks for the swelling to go down and for the bone to start to regrow.

I was then given some local anasthetic and the doc pushed it back in place with her hands. It didn't hurt but it did feel like she was going ton push my nose off the other side of my face.

They did give me the option of general anasthetic, but I didn't think it was worth it.
