Broadband Info

I'm back, full of love for my fellow NSCers, after a day of self imposed exile. In fact, I actually assumed I had been banned when I couldn't get on the site yesterday. Enough of the self-important drivel, my question is:

I'm getting broadband soon, finally updating from 56k. What's the best option to go for. I download a few songs every now and again (completely legally of course) - perhaps 10 a month. But I would be uploading and sending the equivalent of 25mb a month - don't know whether this affects the downloading limit or not. What's the best option - the best company to go for? I'm currently on Tiscali, don't know how good their broadband is. Also, don't like AOL - I hate the internet browser you have to use with it. Cheers.

Look for the "maximum contention" figure - the lower the better. Also if speed is very important to you (and you can afford the extra) and you're living close enough to the exchange 1Mg or even 2Mg download speeds are available.

As far as I know, all upload speeds are 256kb sec.
