Brighton-based indie kings currently number one in the midweek charts with a self-released, crowd-funded album beating off the likes of Adele and Ed Sheeran and all their corporate marketing power. Pretty amazing stuff. All hail the mighty Sea Power!

I’ll have some of that!

Waving Flags is one of my fave tracks.

I'm assuming your not Hamilton from the band? :)

Yeah, the album is great - best thing they've done.

Just before the first lockdown me and Mrs. Mahone stayed with some friends in Hastings, and we saw (B)SP in a little pub, about 40 people there. They played an afternoon set of over 2 hours.

It was brilliant.

I went to that! Great little venue - The Piper (St Leonards, rather than Hastings I think!)

I’ve only ever seen them as Texan Sea Power. They were primarily Daniel Johnston’s backing band but played a short support set under this name as well.

I’ve done my bit. Streamed the album and bought the vinyl. Great review/article here

Going to see them in April at the Roundhouse. Been a while since they played the south coast. Remember fondly watching them at The Freebut, Satldean cafe, The Udderbelly, The Old Market, and Komedia amongst many many others.

I remember you and your friend coming to our rescue at the Udderbelly!

Never to be forgotten.
Favour returned when you managed to get me that ticket for the ever so secret Berwick Village Hall gig.

I just remember I was supposed to see them in High Wycombe many years ago. Gig was cancelled as a band member broke his arm. Support was a band called The Killers.

Posted this on another thread but that tune on 6 music all the time is a blatant rip off of a 90s trance tune

12 months ago Mogwai got to #1 in the UK album charts

Something about this time of year?

Fantastic band. One of the best live bands you'd ever see. The Udderbelly show was insane! Seen them many times, good times all.
