The 17 year old activist is a know nothing avatar for environmental extremists. If you take a public platform you can expect to be criticised and ridiculed.
This is a defacto Doomsday cult which hasn't gone full Jamestown yet.
This is being pushed by the International left to try to gain traction like farage did over brexit(The archimedean lever). The diference is, and why it wont work are...Lack of support unlike brexit. The scare mongering is not based in science and the solutions offered are just crazy. The Doom Goblin as I have seen her refered to on several occaisions is being set up to fail.
The dupicity of these activists claiming that turning in their Iphones in will make no difference while ignoring the fact that we have done all we can and it wont matter unless China and India change is gobsmacking hypocracy.

One of the more irritating things about recent times online has been that it's now almost impossible to tell when people are being parodies and when they're being genuinely wrong.

PPF has been banned for a month. You are replying to the parody account set up to mock him. The fact that you think it is the real Droopy Rectum is justification enough for the existence of the parody account
In fairness, the parody of PPF is not much different to the real thing. I do have to check each time as they are so similar.

The thing about the average cave dweller is their lack of awareness of what constitutes popular opinion.
The thousands turning out every time she speaks and the regular protests in Bristol and elsewhere (including Brighton and Hove) suggest those that will be living with the impacts of past (and current) actions (and the better educated people who will probably be dead but still care about their legacy) do support this.

The vitriol directed at her is disturbing. Maybe some folk disagree with her, that is their right. Maybe some folk think that double maths has more impact than teaching activism on issues that affect us all long term, that is their right.
What comes through is a concerning trend of bile that leaves me bewildered as to its source. Why are some folk so conditioned to hate and negativity ?

But what that shows is that, rather than putting people off coming in, it builds the forum more. Most folk don't want to see the sort of stuff shown above. Most folk are sensible even in disagreement. Those who don't agree generally want to reserve the right to be hateful and malicious. What is their problem ? Themselves.

This is the problem I have with it. It's hard to Parody extreme views successfully, as parody by definition is a deliberate exaggeration for comic effect. But when the original is already extreme, a poor attempt to parody it just becomes imitation.
Not funny, just nasty.

In general, people only hate others because they hate themselves. If you are happy and comfortable in yourself you're much less likely to be an online troll/bully/hater.
It's not an answer as to how we stop it but it's often why it happens. Perhaps if we can throw that info into their faces they might stop and think? Or then again they might just lash out at someone else..

Please post your qualifications on this subject. Then back up your opinions with your evidence.
Otherwise you are just another voice questioning the evidence of the scientific community.
