Some Bristol fans were on their way back to their coach in the train station carpark when they starting singing to the Albion fans waiting for the trains "You're a town full of faggots"
we got that as well. I corrected them - we're a city full of faggots;)

Made that same mistake too, unfortunatly. One nice memory is of a City fan chasing after a Brighton fan who got in his car and was flooring it out of the car park with the City fan screaming abuse at him, picking up bottles off the floor. Lovely.

Good job Phil was at hand for a quick getaway, eh?

:)

It's a shame that I wasn't on my own. I'd have gone in Hereford & Rome '97 stylee otherwise - irrespective of my situation. Sorry.

I liked em to be honest, walking out the ground at the north end singing " we are going up sing we are going up", A large burley looking bloke walks over.

I said to my mate I was with, "This doesn't look good!" He put his arm around me and congratulated the mighy Brighton, I in turn done the same wishing him luck next season.

At the same time a copper is watching and I heard HIM say to his Partner, "Its good to see that innit"

Bristol fans were not bad at all, GOOD LUCK NEXT SEASON AGAIN!

Bristol City were scum but for the day only.

After the game, some Brighton fans were giving it large passing dejected City supporters rubbinng it in.

There was no need for that as the result was enough.

Their day will come but it couldn't be Sunday for them.

Walked up St Mary's Rd b4 the game, everywhere was red and white, normally i would be p*issing myself. But on Sunday, I felt generally safe. Generally a great day.

Have to say, my experience of their fans was entirely different to those above.

Walking back to the coach park, a number of their fans in the pay and display car park up from the castle were applauding generously, as was another guy who was leaning over the underpass as we walked through. I thought they were pretty generous under the circumstances. The only "abuse" we got was a few wanker signs from passing cars on the M4, and one enormous woman in the car park who felt the urge to give us (ooooh, how hurtful) the thumbs down.

Danny Wilson was very honourable in defeat, and didn't feel the need to blame cosmic quantities of bad luck, the officials, the curse of the south dressing room, the woodwork or the negative juxtaposition of Mars and Venus. Andy King could learn plenty from him. Still, you'll have at least 2 opportunities next season, eh Andy?

In London village.
There were a few Brizzle "lads" on our train who were actually very decent guys. There was a bit of banter but their venom was very much directed at Cardiff not us.

I was standing in the "Newport Only" queue at the train station, and had a bit of a mixed reaction. There were plenty of Albion fans in the queue, and we were next to the "Bristol - Temple Measd" queue, so the Bristol fans were wandering past us. A couple were hurling insults and at one point, as I was squinting in the sun as I looked around the scene, one was shouting at me "What the f*** are you smiling at me for?". I just looked away, which is usually the best way. Shortly after that, one of their guys came to the barrier and just stuck out a hand. He went along the barrier, shaking every Albion fan's hand and ruffling the hair of any kids, wishing them luck next season. Such a contrast.

Didn't like the walk to the stadium tho. Arriving at about 2:30pm, I had NO idea which way to go and, at times, couldnt see anything but Bristol City. So it was just me wearing my stripes with my girlfriend, trying to cross a flowing river of City supporters in search of a single Brighton fan.

Apart from some 50 year old drunken Bristol City pervert on a coach on the M4 (showing his butt and his old man off to any Brighton fans passing the coach), all the BC fans seemed pretty gracious in defeat. Had my hand shaken by about four BC fans after the match, outside the ground, wishing the Albion luck next season

One Bristol inbred spat in my face on the walk back to the station... big of him as there was only me and my girl and hundreds of red shirts around us.

Couldn't ruin my day though!!

:D

Generally, I was impressed with the Brizzle lot. Good natured, in the main. Stuck in traffic on the M4, we were surrounded by a lot of Brizzle cars, and there was lots of friendly flag waving going on by both lots of fans.

There were a few idiots sat by the castle after the game shouting the usual homophobic nonsense. I just ignored them. They seemed particularly amused to see us Scottish Seagulls, as we all had kilts on - I do hope they go to Glasgow soon and shout "only poofs wear kilts" (as they shouted to us) in the city centre on a Friday night.

But, generally, a good bunch, gracious in defeat. Fair do's.
