After leaving the game yesterday, we had just got into the car when we see these 2 Bristol City meatheads giving us the wanker sign. I lean out the window and ask him what the f*ck the problem is, only to get more abuse.

So i tell them to F*ck off back on their combine harvesters to bristol, and said i hope they have fun in div 2 next year. One of them comes over to the car and me and my brother are ready for a full on scrap, he pokes his head in the car window, gives me a kiss and said 'its only a bit of fun isnt it'

I thought it was a gracious act, and thought their fans on the whole were not to bad.

On the drive to the ground a car over took us and the guy is full on with the v signs and looking very angry. My nan and auntie are in the front. I combined age of around 130. They just waved.

I thought the vast majority of City fans were really good, both before and after the game. Took a bit of abuse from other cars on the way out but a quick finger to the lips in a 'Sssshhh' gesture soon shut them up.

More embarrassing was some of the people (kids) in Brighton shirts before the game giving it loads to the Bristol fans, calling them scum etc. Blatantly not Albion fans as their attempt at the 'Posh Spice is a slapper' song was laughable. Fair play to the City fans for taking the abuse in a good nature. Other people would have glassed the gobby fuckers.

On NSC for over two decades...
Most of the Bristol fans were fairly subdued after the game, rather like we were in '91. It was odd wandering past the Castle and seeing loads of them sat on the grass consoling themselves with a beer. It could easily have been us, but that's football.

Better than being called a faggot which I had from several Swindon fans after the first leg of the semi.

On the way out a bristol lad shouted to us "what it like to see a big crowd?"

My mate shouts back, "we will let you know when we go to leeds next year"

Oh how we laughed

Some Bristol fans were on their way back to their coach in the train station carpark when they starting singing to the Albion fans waiting for the trains "You're a town full of faggots"

So one Brighton fan starting singing "1-0 to the nancy boys"

Bristol didn't have a come back :clap2:

Strangely, in the traffic queues a lot of City fans seemed to wave their fingers at us, presumably indicating what division they're in next season!

We gave them a similar salute to signify Division One, and a healthy blast of our Sussex By The Sea CD on the car stereo.

Magic.

There was a woman in her care waving at me and lauging at me cos she saw my city shirt on i just gave her the 1 fingered salute , i was obviously depressed enough as it is without some stupid cow who's probably never been to a brighton game anyway rubbing it in.

Before the match most Bristol fans gave us the usual homophobic abuse, some of it a bit threatening. In one instance this wasn't helped by the fact that my daughter, tired of being told she was queer, responded to a 'Does your boyfriend know you're here?' chant by shouting back: 'Yes he does - does your sister know you're here?" I hurried her on whilst the neanderthals tried to figure out why they'd been shouting male homosexual abuse at a female and wondering whether or not they'd been insulted.

Afterwards they were quite subdued, but a couple of Brighton fans walking in front of us made things a bit awkward by yelling insults at every person in red who walked by. Nevertheless one City fan did come up to wish us luck for next year.

:clap2: There was one particluarly gobby twat in the City Arms outside gate 3 who was trying to pick a fight with any city fan walking past. I reckon I was about one pint away from giving the sad tosser a slap myself and if I ever see him again I'll be sure to give him a piece of my mind and see if he's as brave without his mates around him. This sad prick was probably in his late 30s. :tosser:

Apart from a few drink fuelled handbags featuring a handful of chavs at the station, my experience of the City fans was that they were top drawer.

each to their own, my experience on the Salisbury train was that they were a bunch of winkers and NO-ONE else from Bristol spoke up to stop the morons.
I didn't used to have a problem with Bristol City but after yesterday I hope they get relegated next year.

Overall the BC fans were good. However made the mistake of stopping at Cardiff Gate services and enjoyed the company of a Bristol fan in the queue for a burger, who after a few minutes of questioning my sexual orientation, decided to tell 10 year old Sarum Jr what he was going to do to that F'ing c*** Leon when he sees him next. We just made our excuses and left!

they are ok but as with most clubs they have their fair share of wankers - it was funny when a few of em did the 2 finger sign - i just said yes you're right - you are in DIVISION 2:wave:

One of my recollections of the Notts County playoff defeat in 1991 is of the immensely pleasant journey back to central London on the tube - a good mix of Albion and County fans sharing a bit of banter and a lot of sensible conversations.

My post-match experience yesterday was not a great deal different. A stroll back to the station and friendly conversation between opposition supporters.

One said to me "I've been supporting City for years. We've had far worse days than this". If we'd have lost, I'd have said much the same thing, I guess.

Made that same mistake too, unfortunatly. One nice memory is of a City fan chasing after a Brighton fan who got in his car and was flooring it out of the car park with the City fan screaming abuse at him, picking up bottles off the floor. Lovely.

The funniest thing I saw was that one poor Brighton bloke passed a pub near the ground and the 200/300 Brizzle outside started up the usual chant and finger-pointing all directed at him. Thing is, he was carrying a toddler and wheeling an occupied stroller. His wife was carrying another toddler and their two older kids were trailing close behind. Now if he's got time for a boyfriend after all that, I say well done to the bloke. If only there was a hint of irony in the Brizzle chants.....I like to think the best of people, y'know.
