Bring Back Wilkins?

Okay, so I'll admit to not spending all my time on NSC - all right then, hardly any time at all. But, without searching through every post made since Christmas, I'm wondering what happened to that unstoppable torrent of heartfelt pleas to "Bring Back Wilkins."

Can anyone verify any recent sightings of that once-popular demand? I vaguely recall that one poster, a lady going under the name of bhapleb or some such, was particularly enthusiastic in her lobbying for Wilkins' reappointment.

So, are there any people out there still yearning for Dean's return? And if so, in what capacity would he be appointed?

And if not, what can possibly have happened to change their minds? ???

I still want him back...as a Youth Team Coach, some of our best youngsters came through the ranks when he was in that position.

In my defence, I was left unsupervised.

As you haven't been on NSC I'll let you off - but these threads still come up every week!

Marc's comment above notwithstanding I think most people accept that he'll never be back. I certainly wouldn't want him to come back as I think there's been too much blood under the bridge for him to have a working relationship with the board or off-field management.

However two things STILL piss people off. Firstly some people still want to know the reasons (personally I used to want to know, but now I'm not interested). Secondly the club have never admitted that they f***ed up by sacking a relatively successful manager and giving the job to an unemployed has-been. This does worry me, and it should worry you too because if the club can do it once they can do it again. I think Slade will be given the job permanently, but I wouldn't be that suprised if got released and replaced by someone like Alan Pardew who is more of a 'name'.

I agree with Marc - it would be great to have him back as youth team coach - but it'll never happen. Wilkins (quite rightly) has too much pride, and DK is too stubborn.
