Brighton's West Pier For Sale!

Well, a small piece of it anyway......

Somebody is attempting to sell what they claim is an 'actural' piece of the West Pier roof for £1-00 on eBay!

However, the item looks suspiciously like a piece of slate with a bit of seaweed placed on top of it to me.

Very funny though. I wish I knew how to add a link but, uh, I don't. Perhaps someone else could do the honours.

Failing that, go to eBay and put 'Brighton West Pier' into the search engine.

It's a bargain, I tell you!

Is it burnt? Its only authentic if its burnt. If you want TLB, I can sell you the actual match that was used to burn the pier down. Only £20, now thats a real bargain.;) :bhasign:

Good work Matt. I'm absolutely amazed that such a valuable item has failed to attract any bids. Still, 9 days to go yet.....

Alright then, a Bloke from Cardiff that is homeless unemployed and staying in mates bedsit in Worthing, is trying to sell a fake piece of the West Pier for a quid, to make a downpayment on a nice house he's seen overlooking Ninian Park.
Obviously the location is the reason for the ultra low price. Apparently he put down 10% of the value.

Better Bluebird?

Much better thanks Captain. It all makes perfect sense to me now. I should've seen Cardiff bloke / homeless / mate in Worthing / house overlooking Ninian Park link. It was so obvious really.

In my opinion, he should've gone the whole hog and tried to sell the entire West Pier on eBay. After all, nobody seems particularly interested in it at the moment.....

It still has a certain something though, don't you think? There certainly isn't another like it anywhere in Britain as far as I know.....

It's not just Brighton Bluebird. It's all over our country (including Wales). Councils and the government seem to just want to build some stupid fancy expensive art thing in the middle of the city centre and employ parking attendants and twats to pick up your rubbish for you that give you a letter informing you you owe them 20 quid because a twig fell in you rubbish bag and they can't take that away....Breath..... Rather than concentrating on restoring and keeping heritage.

We're a bit more fortunate in here in Wales, Captain. We've never had any heritage to protect in the first place. Unless you count all those castles of course.

We're only just emerging from the Druids era over here......

There HAS been a bidder, which is incredible. Or rather it's incredible until you look at the bidder's eBay username, and then look at the seller's eBay username.

Now I'm no Sherlock Holmes, but........

Time is fast running out, but the bidding for this fine piece of slate with its strategically-placed bit of seaweed has now reached a whopping £3-30!

The last three items bought on eBay by the current highest bidder were a Shirley Bassey concert flyer, a copper statue of Buddha, and a picture of Harry Potter in his pyjamas.

There are some dangerous people out there kids. Be afraid. Be very afraid......

it is actually ilegal to sell bits of the west pier ,
its private property, if you found abit after it cought fire then you should have handed it in.

if your house burnt down you wouldnt expect people to run off with bits of your property!

i dont find this subject funny. just goes to show how shit brighton council was and Brighton & hove council is now, the pier should have been saved years ago.
